Reese (Pack of Misfits #2) - Raven Kennedy Page 0,80
Even if it’s too late. Even if she’s...gone. I want to try. I want to rescue her the way I should’ve done five years ago.”
“Then that’s what we’ll do.”
He says it so confidently, so effortlessly, that I can’t help but pick my head up to stare at him. “Just like that?”
He gives me a crooked smile. “Not just like that. But in case you haven’t noticed, Pack Aberrant has over a hundred shifters, and aside from being loyal to each other, we’re also diverse. You’d be surprised what our pack can accomplish once we get together and are determined to do something.”
“And they’d help me figure out how to track her down?”
“Of course,” he says simply. “We’re pack.”
“Thank you,” I say breathlessly, letting my head rest on him again.
“You don’t have to thank me, Reese. It’s the right thing to do.”
Now that he’s said we can put it in motion, I’m practically buzzing.
“When we get back to the compound tomorrow, we’ll talk to Hugo. He’ll come up with some ideas,” he promises. “Now, we better get to sleep. I’m sure Toby will wake everyone up bright fucking early so we can get on the road.”
I groan as Luca gets to his feet, pulling me up with him. But before he can walk me to the tents up past the rocks on the beach, I stop him. “What if we don’t go to the tents?”
He looks at me with an inscrutable expression on his face. “You...don’t want to go to the tents?”
I tuck my fingers into my pocket and then pull them back out, holding up a set of keys between us.
He snickers and tugs me toward the parking lot instead. “Okay, Mousey, but if he catches us, I’m going to plead innocence.”
I pat him on the arm with a smirk. “Don’t worry. I’ll protect you from the big, bad, muscly enforcer.”
Luca scoffs. “He doesn’t have that many muscles.”
“Eh, agree to disagree.”
“Oh, Mousey, if you keep talking about another male like that, I’m going to have to punish you.”
A little zing shoots through my body. “Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah,” he replies, tugging me up the slope to reach the parking lot where our cars are waiting. “Naughty girls get bent over and fucked hard until they’re reminded that the only muscles they should be talking about are the very impressive, very superior boyfriend’s muscles.”
I simultaneously blush, grow hot, and laugh all at once. I have the sudden urge to fan my face at the visual he just gave me. “Hmm. That seems fair.”
“I thought so.”
We reach the asphalt of the parking lot, my legs burning slightly from the trek through the deep beach sand. I’m barefoot, but the asphalt is cool and smooth beneath the pads of my feet, so it doesn’t bother me.
What does bother me, however, is what we find when we reach Stinger’s Expedition. Luca and I both stop in our tracks.
“Oh. Oh wow,” I say, tilting my head to get a better vantage point.
“Fucking hell.”
We both just stand there for a second, watching as the three shifters go at it against Stinger’s car. Despite the dark, I can see plainly that it’s none other than Lizard Gunter and Bird Jenson doing very dirty things to Sloth Wynn.
“Huh. I guess that mating dance-off ritual worked,” I say. “But I gotta be honest, I didn’t expect that position from her. It’s very...energetic of her.”
Luca snickers.
Gunter is eating her out where she’s up on the hood, on her back and holding her legs apart like she’s serving it to him. Her cries of unabashed pleasure fill the air before Jenson shoves Gunter aside to take over. Gunter growls at him and says something, but Jenson just holds up his middle finger and buries his head between her thighs.
“Alright, that’s enough voyeurism for one night,” Luca says before turning to walk away.
I keep watching because it’s actually pretty fascinating. And sexy. And—
I hear Luca chuckle, and then he comes up in front of me, his back to my front. Without warning, he squats down, grabs my thighs, and hikes me up on his back and starts carrying me away. I giggle and wrap my arms around his neck. “You’re such a caveman.”
“You like it.”
I do. I really do.
“I guess I’ll have to have my wicked way with you another time,” I say with a dramatic sigh.
“Unless you’re up for sex on the beach, I’m afraid so.”
