Reese (Pack of Misfits #2) - Raven Kennedy Page 0,69
find me. Sid will want to hunt me down and make me pay for slipping out of his clutches. I can only hope that he won’t be able to find a trace of me, just like my new packmates haven’t been able to find a trace of Rick Dick.
I’m still lost in thought and worry when Addie comes walking into the room. “Hey,” she says, tossing me a plastic bag.
I peer into it and see several t-shirts. “You don’t have to keep giving me clothes. Alpha Hugo gave me some cash to buy my own.”
“I know, but you’re honestly doing me a favor,” Addie says as she helps herself to Jetta’s bed and lies down. “Lafe keeps printing more duck pun shirts because he thinks he’s hilarious.”
I pull out a bright pink one that says Release the Quacken. I snicker.
“Don’t encourage him,” she warns me.
Laughing, I put the shirt back in the bag.
“So, how are you doing with all your mates?” I ask curiously.
Now that I’ve been around a bit longer, I know that the whole situation is actually pretty new. Which is why she’s still staying in the singles warehouse instead of a mate cabin. Apparently, she told them that just because they accidentally mated doesn’t mean they don’t have to woo her. I like her style.
Addie gets a dopey smile on her face. “The sex is, like, so good.”
“With so many of them, I can imagine.”
Addie nods enthusiastically and sits up, crossing her legs on the bed so she can face me. “They like to do this thing called the wheelbarrow, except they add some flair with an extra farmer in front, and—oh... Ahoy, mateys!” she says brightly as all three of her mates suddenly walk in.
And...wow. That’s a lot of male in my bedroom.
All three of them are so different, Herrick with his dark skin and glower, Lafe with his man bun and happy grin, and Penn with his blond hair and boy-next-door look.
Penn sighs. “Can you stop calling us that?”
Addie pretends to think about it, tapping a finger on her lips. “Yeah, no.”
“You said yeah first,” he points out.
Addie rolls her eyes. “We’ve been through this.”
“What I want to know is what you were talking about right before we walked in here,” Lafe says as he leans against the wall at the foot of the bed.
Addie raises her chin. “Nothing.”
“So you weren’t talking about fucking us?” Herrick supplies.
Addie scoffs, like that’s completely ridiculous. “Of course not. That would be crude and personal.”
I have to bite my lips to keep from laughing.
“So then why did you use the words wheelbarrow and farmer?” Penn asks.
“We were talking about the pack’s crops, Penn. Geez. Get your head out of the gutter.”
The three males don’t seem convinced, but they drop it. “Anyway, we just stopped by the cabin,” Penn says. “It’s coming along.”
“Oh?”
He narrows his eyes on her, and Herrick crosses his arms. “You are going to move in with us, Aderyn Locke,” Herrick says.
Addie grins. “Ooh. I like it when you use your dominant sex voice.”
The shifter shakes his head at her. “Don’t try to distract me.”
She shrugs, like it was worth a shot. “I’m not moving into a mate cabin with you guys until you date me so good and convince my duck that you deserve us.”
Lafe shrugs off from the wall and walks over to her. He’s wearing a bright orange shirt with a duck on it that says, Ask Me About My Ass Quack.
She automatically puts her legs down so he can bracket her thighs from where he stands. “Baby, we’ll never deserve you or your duck, but you know we want you, and we’re not gonna stop harassing you about this until we have you with us where you belong. Our coyotes are getting more and more agitated.”
“Then I guess you should be super-duper nice to me,” she says.
Herrick shakes his head. “Stubborn ass duck.”
Jetta suddenly walks in and glares at the intruders. “Why the hell are you in my room?”
Lafe takes a step back from her bed, and she smirks at him as she comes closer. He eyes her suspiciously.
“Don’t you have a moon to yip at?” she asks.
“Well, it’s daytime, so...no,” he answers.
She makes a sudden movement with her hand as she reaches up to tighten her hair tie, and he flinches back like she was just about to deck him. Jetta smirks. “A little jumpy there, aren’t ya?”
