Ravish: The Awakening of Sleeping Beauty - By Cathy Yardley Page 0,60

lick around her as Jacob stroked her breasts, cupping their fullness, gently circling and pinching the already hard nipples. She stared into his eyes.

She could tell the exact moment he, too, became fully present. He nodded in encouragement.

A burst of energy rose through her. She stroked the erect fullness of his cock, rubbing it against her stomach, her fingertips circling the shaft. She kissed him, her tongue stroking his as she gripped his cock between their pressed bodies. She felt the wetness on the tip, felt the springing tension as his muscles bunched eagerly. She felt her own wave of dampness, lubricating her body, slowly trickling between her thighs. She craved him inside her.

Their hips swiveled. Jacob hooked a hand over one of her legs, lifting it to rest over his hip. He reached between them, angling his cock, brushing it against her damp opening. She moaned out loud as the rounded tip pushed between her curls. He rubbed the blunt head firmly against her tight clitoris. “Yes,” she murmured, arching, standing on tiptoe, aching for a more complete joining as waves of pleasure rippled up from between her thighs. Her flesh tingled with desire.

Rory closed her eyes, focusing on the sensation of Jacob’s penis, slowly pressing up and inside her cunt. She panted eagerly, holding onto his shoulders, lifting herself up against him. He helped her, putting his hands beneath her buttocks and positioning her so she could impale herself on his willing cock.

“Yes!” she cried out, her legs wrapping around his waist.

“STOP!”

Shocked, Rory turned her head.

Serafina was there, breasts naked, wearing only a filmy skirt. She held a long, wicked-looking knife in one hand, a bottle of raw rum in the other. The drumming stopped as she struck Mahjani hard with the bottle. Mahjani fell, bleeding from the side of her head. She didn’t move.

“Mahjani!” Rory cried, as fear coursed through her system.

“I will not allow this!” Serafina pointed at Rory and Jacob with the knife.

“You can’t interrupt, Erzuli,” Oshun said caustically, sounding regal as a queen. “The ritual has started.”

“Yeah, Erzuli,” Chango drawled. “It was just starting to get good!”

“I built this world for my mambo, Serafina.” The voice that emerged from Serafina’s lips definitely sounded like a goddess…and a pissed one, at that. “This girl must stay here!”

“You can’t control me,” Rory protested.

Serafina-Erzuli laughed. “Do you really think wrapping your legs around some man is going to stop me?”

Jacob disengaged from Rory, and Rory felt an immediate sense of loss. The buildup of energy that she’d been experiencing drained away, like a bathtub emptying. Suddenly, she felt very small and vulnerable.

Jacob picked up one of the ceremonial knives, among Mahjani’s ceremonial gear. He advanced toward Serafina, eyes narrowed.

“All right,” he said sharply. “We’ll finish this.”

“You can’t kill her!” Rory cried.

“She’s right,” Serafina said, amused. “As I said, I built this world. Kill me, and you kill her—and possibly even yourself.”

“No,” he said. “But I can hurt you.”

Serafina’s smile turned feral. “You can try.” She opened her arms out wide.

He advanced on her. Rory stifled a scream, running desperately to Mahjani. “Please, help me!” Rory said.

“That one won’t stir,” Serafina commented, with an offhand gesture. “She’s crossed me, and deserves her punishment. She will remain like that until I set her free or this world disappears.”

Rory saw that Mahjani was, indeed, still asleep. Rory turned, and saw Jacob, just feet away from Serafina, knife held forward, eyes filled with dark intent.

Serafina laughed. Then she waved her hand.

Jacob’s eyes widened.

“You don’t belong here,” Serafina said, shrugging. “So I don’t have to hurt you. I just have to wake you up.”

Then, just like that, he disappeared.

“Jacob!” Rory screamed.

Serafina crossed her arms. “Now, girlie,” she murmured.

“How to deal with you…”

Jacob woke in the strange hotel room. Blindly, he scrambled for his cell phone, hitting Mahjani’s number. The third time her answering machine picked up, he realized that something was wrong.

She’s crossed me, and deserves her punishment. She will remain like that until I set her free or this world disappears….

Jacob closed his eyes. Mahjani was hurt, trapped. Like Rory, she was probably in some kind of comatose state.

Unlike Rory, she had no medical help.

Beyond that, Rory was in trouble. Serafina was not going to give her any options. Rory would either help Serafina, become her acolyte or Rory was probably going to become comatose in two worlds.

Jacob’s mind raced. He turned on the light, staring at the bland interior of his hotel room. He had to do something.

But what, damn
