Pirate's Promise (Sentinels of Savannah #5) - Lisa Kessler Page 0,87

her mouth. She ran her hands up his chest and around the back of his neck. Her skin flushed with heat, yearning to be even closer.

She broke the kiss, breathless. “You should show me your bedroom.”

His sexy grin curled her toes. “Good idea.” He took her hand and hustled her out of the library and down the hall to a set of large oak double doors. “After you.”

She laughed. “Pretty gentlemanly for a pirate.”

Mischief sparkled in his hazel eyes, and he suddenly bent down, hoisting her up over his shoulder as he opened the door. She wriggled, laughing and smacking his ass as he carried her inside and tossed her down onto the bed.

He lay over her. “Rather be ravaged by a pirate, love?”

“As long as the pirate is you.”

“Only me,” he whispered as he kissed his way down her neck. His breath was hot on her skin. “Since you didn’t bring any other clothes, I probably shouldn’t rip them off.”

“Probably not.” Although just thinking about it turned her on.

He stood and pulled her up with him. Her legs were rubbery, but he braced her with one arm and used the other to lift her top over her head. She did the same to his shirt. His chest was even more chiseled and tan than she remembered.

She looked up into his eyes and raised a brow. “You’ve been working really hard, fixing the Sea Dog.”

He nodded, the hunger in his gaze warming her all over. “There’s not enough hard labor in this world to get you out of my head.”

“Good,” she whispered as she unbuttoned his jeans.

He kissed her, growling against her lips, “I need you naked.”

“You first.” She pushed his pants down, easing his erection free.

There was nothing easy about the way he shoved her pants lower and tugged them free of her legs. His urgency for her had desire coiling, winding her tight.

With one arm around her waist, he carried her up the bed and lay over her, his braids cascading around them. She parted her thighs, and his hips sank closer to her, the tip of him brushing her opening.

She lost herself in his eyes. “I need you.”

He entered her slowly, inch by inch, his gaze locked on hers.

Although they’d made love before on the Sea Dog, the intensity of this moment, this joining, made her heart race. This wasn’t just a physical pleasure. This was a consummation. He’d bared his heart, and she’d done the same. This was body and soul, a union.

She ran her hands up his back as he filled her completely. “You were made for me,” she whispered.

“Aye,” he growled against her ear. He pushed up, his hands on either side of her head as he thrust into her.

She stared down his body, to the matching scars on their abdomens. They’d been marked forever by the moment when they’d both sacrificed themselves, by the sword that had brought them together.

She looked up into his eyes and whispered, “I love you.”

He lowered himself, kissing her with a passion that melted her heart and heated her bloodstream all at the same time. Her nails dug into him as her body yearned for release, a delicious ache that she never wanted to end.

She rolled him over, kissing him again before sitting up over him. His rough hands gripped her waist as his gaze ran up her body. “Yer so fucking beautiful, Aura.”

He made her feel like a damned goddess, scars and all.

She ground her hips against him, riding him slowly as he slid his hands up to knead her breasts. Her inner muscles clenched around him as she teetered on the edge of oblivion. He brought one hand down, sliding his fingers between them. She gasped his name as he toyed with her faster, his voice a deep growl. “Let go, love.”

She closed her eyes, surrendering to the swell of pleasure and losing herself as her orgasm washed over her until she couldn’t move. He rolled her underneath him, his hips pounding into her until he erupted deep inside her.

Kissing her lips, he whispered, “Thank you for climbing the lines for me today.” He rested his forehead on hers.

She smiled, spent and so goddamned happy as she stared up into his eyes. “Best decision I’ve ever made.”

He kissed her again and grinned. “Yer staying here with me, right?”

“Like, living here?”

“Aye.” He nodded with a lopsided smile. It would be very dangerous if he ever discovered the power he wielded over her with that grin. “I love
