Pandora's Box - Eve Newton Page 0,51

a fucking chance,” she rasps as my hand closes around her neck. “Kill me, but I will still be here, and I will keep him in torment for eternity. He will suffer unbelievably from my wrath…gah…”

Her words are cut short as I squeeze tightly.

“Annabelle.”

I hear War’s urgent voice call out to me, but I ignore it. This has nothing to do with him.

I slam Leviathan against the wall again, rattling the bones in her body. Her muffled whimper speaks to the beast in me. It riles Her up. She needs more destruction, more pain, more suffering, more torment.

“Anna!”

War’s voice booms through my head, but I dismiss it.

I squeeze Leviathan’s throat until I hear a crack. “RELEASE HIM!” I bellow in her face, ripping my throat apart.

“Never!” she snarls.

I throw her limp body over to the other side of the cavern, relishing every second of her hitting the wall and slumping down to the ground in a pile of blood and bones. She can’t Shift. She doesn’t have the strength to change her shape into that of her cat to slip out. Engulfed in flames, I appear in front of her again and drag her to her feet. I rake my talons down her face, making her scream. I draw my arm back and then ram my hand into her gut, grabbing hold of her insides and pulling them out of the cavity.

Her shrieks make me smile.

I swallow and brace myself to grate out to her, “He suffers, you suffer.”

“Fuck. You,” she pants.

I know that as much fun as this is for the beast, I have to end it. Sid is suffering every second I play with my prey.

That resonates in my foggy brain.

I release my hold on her and drop her guts on the floor, setting them on fire with just a thought. As she writhes around, trying to get away from the sheer torture I’m inflicting on her, I bring both of my hands up and raise her body off the floor with magick. She hangs in the air in front of me like a macabre puppet with a gaping hole in her stomach. I wave one hand over her face, burning her eyes out of the sockets as she screams.

Growing weary of the noise, I rip her tongue out of her mouth and fling it on the floor, stepping on it and crushing it underneath my hoof.

The silence is deafening. I can hear War’s heavy breathing from too close to me. I need him to back off. I would hate to end him if he tries to stop me from what I’m about to do next.

“Suffer,” I whisper, unable to utter a word any louder, but they both hear me, nonetheless. “Suffer for eternity.”

I’m calling her bluff. Killing her will release her hold on Sid. I’m as sure of it as I can be. If I’m wrong, I will deal with it when rational thought returns. All I want right now is to damage this bitch as much as I can.

I bring my hands up and force my talons into her temples.

I barely register the keening noise that emits from her tongueless mouth.

Wiggling my fingers inside her head, I project exactly what I want to happen. She is going to die a thousand deaths, ten thousand, a hundred thousand deaths over and over again. I’m going to keep her in a loop of eternal death, killing her again and again, over and over. She will relive the moment from when I freed her from her cell to when I burn her body with the fires of Hell, scarring her body and her essence as she did to Sid. In this cycle, she will never truly die. She will never be able to haunt Hell as a specter. She will come back to life the next second after she dies, only to go through her nightmare again. There is no way she will be able to keep her hold on Sid.

I breathe out through my open mouth, fire followed by smoke curls out, a faint wisp, but it is enough to blacken her skin, melting it off her bones as her hair lights up like a Tiki-torch.

War is panting close to my ear. I can smell his arousal. It is emanating off him in waves of musky scent. I can feel his hot breath blowing on me.

I pull my fingers out of Leviathan’s head and wiggle them, encasing her in a small fire cube where she will remain in
