counting.
I don’t give a shit. I’m going to have to unload into her any second now. My ego can take the hit because they know what it’s like to fuck her.
“Oh, War!” Annabelle screams as I thrust even harder into her, ready to release.
She comes again, this time with a lot more force than before. Her body convulses as her cunt clutches my cock in a death grip.
“Fuck. I fucking love you,” I growl and that’s it. I can’t stop the flood that explodes out of me and into her.
“What?” she bleats, sweating and still panting as her climax isn’t done yet. “What did you just say?”
I grin at her. “I fucking love you, Princess.” I thrust one last time and I’m drained.
Devlin looks up from sucking her nipple and states, “Number of the beast, baby. Six hundred and sixty-six strokes. Why does that not surprise me in the least?”
“Fuck,” Annabelle laughs nervously as I withdraw from her, still as hard as when I entered her. “Fuck.” She scrambles off the bed and rushes to the bathroom. “Fuck!”
I give the slammed bathroom door a curious look.
“I’ll go,” Xavi says, rising from the chaise where she’d been watching this with disinterest.
“No. I’ll go,” I say, intrigued by her reaction.
I stalk over and shove the door open.
Annabelle is staring at herself in the mirror. Her eyes meet mine and she grimaces at me. “You couldn’t wait to say that until I looked prettier? I’m a fucking mess.” She runs her hands through her sweaty tangled hair.
“If I’d waited, it wouldn’t have meant as much,” I say, wrapping my arms around her. I don’t know what it is, but I want to hold her, keep her safe. Protect her. Even though she is the ultimate power, she looks so vulnerable right now.
“You’re an ass,” she says. “You don’t even mean it.”
I narrow my eyes at her. “Don’t I? You know my feelings better than I do now?”
“I can’t say it back to you,” she blurts out. “So, I hope you weren’t expecting it.”
“Not at all. I’ve made my feelings perfectly clear.”
“Yeah,” she says and pulls away from me. “I need a shower.”
“Of course,” I say, slightly bewildered by her sudden cold attitude.
“Killian,” she says quietly as I turn to leave.
“Yes, Princess?”
“I knew you couldn’t get to a thousand,” she says, laughter twinkling in her wicked eyes.
I snort. “Not with you,” I say and open the door to walk back into the bedroom, closing it quietly behind me.
“Is she okay?” Xavi barks at me the second she sees me.
“Yes, she’s having a shower. I think we all need to leave her to rest now. She has had a long day and she has shit to deal with tomorrow that is going to take its toll.”
Xavi wants to protest, but after I give her a fierce glare, she backs down. “I just want to check on her,” she says and stalks past me to the bathroom.
I let her go and turn to the other males. “Next time, E,” I say, getting dressed by snapping my fingers.
He nods, disappointed that we didn’t get to fuck. I am too, but the rules are the rules it seems, and Annabelle is out. She really does need to rest.
“We will congregate in the Dining Hall first thing tomorrow. I’m going to try and find Shax, make sure that he remains well.”
The rest of the males don’t give it a second thought, but I saw Annabelle’s hands when she was with Shax in the hallway. His were on fire and so were hers. She was controlling it at great cost to her, but I saw it. Somehow, through a bond that I do not understand, they are connected. He hurts, she hurts, and vice versa. However, I feel it is only when they are in Hell together. It’s this place. It binds them on a deeper level.
I grit my teeth and speed up my search. I cannot let anything happen to Shax, and therefore Annabelle. Not now. The portents have started, and I think she is very much aware, if not fully informed, by how connected we are to each other now.
Chapter 23
Annabelle
The following morning, I stare out of my bedroom window at the landscape outside. It’s sunny. The snow has disappeared and a bright sun that has nothing to do with my illusion power, is shining brightly against a blue sky across the whole of Hell.
I sigh and take the cup of coffee that Xavi hands me. “Is this
