within touching distance of my Delilah made me want to punch something… or better yet, someone.
When the hell had that happened?
And when did I start thinking of her as my Delilah?
“Baby, please,” he muttered, reaching up to touch her face just as I sidled up to them. Instinct took over, a primal need to mark my territory that I’d never felt before, and I did the only thing I could think to do besides whip my dick out and pee on her.
“Hey baby, sorry it took me so long.” My free arm wrapped around her waist and I pulled her against my chest, shifting the dog out of the way so he wouldn’t be crushed.
Her eyes went wide as she looked up at me in shock. “Uh…”
Taking advantage of her stunned silence, I mumbled, “Missed you today,” and leaned in, pressing my lips against hers. They were soft, plump, and just the feel of them sent an electric shock through my system and straight to my dick. I never would have expected such a reaction from such a chaste kiss, but I felt it in every single cell in my body. Neither of us spoke when I pulled back, and I could tell she’d been just as affected as I had. All we could do was stare at each other, unable to form words after what had just happened.
“Who the hell is this?”
I’d been so focused on her beautiful face that I’d forgotten about the douchebag in front of us, or the reason for the spontaneous kiss to begin with.
Her eyes stayed on mine as she opened her mouth. “He’s my n—”
“New boyfriend,” I interrupted, cutting my eyes at the asshole standing far too close. “And you are?”
He ignored me and looked back at Delilah in bewilderment. “New boyfriend, Del? Are you fucking kidding me? You’re already seeing someone else?”
That seemed to yank her out of her dazed state. She moved to pull away from me, but I wasn’t having any of that. The feel of her body pressed against mine was something I liked way too much to let it end. My arm around her waist tightened as her head shot to the side.
“Yes, Brant, I’m already seeing someone else. And so freaking what? We’ve been broken up for months. And if I remember correctly, you didn’t have any problem ‘seeing other people’ while we were still together, so who the hell are you to judge me?”
Was it ridiculous that I was more than just a little proud of her in that moment? Not that I cared if it was. I smiled and gave her a little squeeze. “What can I say, man. Your loss is definitely my gain. She’s incredible.” I made sure to stress the word in such a way that the innuendo came through loud and clear. She blushed a bright red that only made her cuter.
“Bullshit,” the dick spit out. “I don’t believe you. We were in love. There’s no way she’s already moved on. My Del isn’t like that.”
Delilah let out an outraged gasp and opened her mouth to lay into the guy, but I cut her off. “You lost your Del when you shoved your dick into someone else. Now she’s mine.” And to hit my point home, I lowered my head and pressed another kiss to her lips. However, there was nothing sweet, or chaste about this one.
When her lips parted on a surprised inhale, I took advantage, pushing my tongue into her mouth. Her taste flooded my senses, a taste I was all too familiar with. My arms tightened uncontrollably as she melted into me and I lost my mind. I couldn’t devour her quick enough, couldn’t get enough of those moans, those whimpers, all those throaty little noises I’d memorized that night months ago.
When I was forced to pull back in order to breathe I focused on her glazed over eyes, her lids half-mast with pleasure, and I knew. I fucking knew.
“Holy shit.”
“HOLY SHIT.” THE MOMENT those words escaped his mouth I realized that he knew exactly who I was. My eyes widened with panic as I watched two separate emotions flit across his features. Lust and anger.
Not good, my brain screamed. Abort! Abort!
But there was no hope for escape, not with his arm holding onto me like a steel band. Without taking his eyes off me, he spoke in a clipped tone, “Bye, Brick.”
“It’s Brant, not Brick.” Brant hissed back.
That got Richard’s full attention. He turned to glare at
