Once Bitten - C.M. Steele Page 0,9
girl and no playing with your pussy while I’m gone unless you’re going to do it while on the phone with me.”
“Perv.”
“Yes, I’m serious. I licked so it’s mine. I own those sexy moans you give me.”
“Fucking shit. You can’t talk dirty me when you’re so far away.”
“Where are you, kitten?” I could see that she’s in what looks to be her bed, but I wanted to hear her say it. My dick stiffened the second I heard her voice. I needed to be with her, but this was the next best thing.
“In bed,” she moaned.
“Good. Now do me a favor and slide your fingers down under your panties and tell me how wet you are.”
A knock on my door interrupts us. “Hold on,” I called out.
“Another time.” With a sigh, she said, “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, my love.” I ended the call because I already got a knock on the door even though I made it clear that I needed time to talk to Jamie. This was starting off very badly.
The ocean wasn’t playing nice for the next two days so we had to dock in a small village in Mexico with awful reception due to a previous storm. Damn, I missed Jamie so much. I hoped that she started planning the wedding. I sent money into her account the day I left to pay for anything she needed until I got back. I’m not sure how she’d take it, but I didn’t want her to worry about the cost of the wedding.
Chapter Four
Jamie
“Girl, we need to start planning the wedding. Devin has already dumped twenty grand into your bank account, and you haven’t even touched it. He’ll be back in three weeks.”
“Ugh. I could kick his ass for that. It makes it real.”
“Because it is.”
“You’re just so in love with Ian and he comes home every night.”
“And…you act like Devin’s out with other women. He’s fucking hunting down the greatest predators in the ocean and studying them while doing his first shark special.” I had no idea it was more than just a work expedition. It was a big deal and extremely important, which solidified what I had to do next.
“I know, but it’s hard to be away from him. Every unoccupied moment I think of calling and begging him to come home. I’m afraid that the next time he calls, I will cave to my own desires.”
Our last call had been more than I could bear. The signal was terrible, and they were in the middle of a hard storm. The call went out and then I got a text four hours later telling me that he’d call me when he got a chance. I only responded with. Can’t talk anymore. When you come back then we can talk all you want, but this long distance isn’t working for me. I’m not going to see anyone else in case you were thinking that.
“And he will come running,” Mia sighed.
“I know,” I huffed.
“Maybe you can message each other.”
“I don’t know.”
“You love the man.”
I had to fight back the tears because I only wanted Devin and I knew that he’d ruined me for anyone else. Everything I am belonged to him. “I exist for him, but I’m so scared. I love him to the point of obsession, so much that I can’t even find a damn job in my field. I’m working at the mall by my parents’ house.”
“That’s my fault that you quit your job to take care of me.” I didn’t tell her that I got fired because I didn’t want to make her feel bad about it.
“You’re my cousin and best friend. Besides, you know I selfishly used it as an excuse to stay close to Devin. Damn, I wish I caved to him instead of playing that stupid game. I need him to touch and kiss me.”
“Jamie, I’m so sorry.”
“I’m going to go home. I need a break from all of this. Maybe I’ll take the time to look for a new job.”
“Remember you need to get one close to Devin’s house.”
“We’ll see.” I hadn’t touched a dollar of his money because planning a wedding and not having him share it with me upset me more than I cared to mention.
My phone rang with his special ringer, and I sent it to voicemail with tears running down my face.
“You have to talk to him sometime.”
“When he gets back.” We cut our day short because I just felt like total shit for avoiding him. Instead, I spent the next
