Omega in the Sand - Aria Grace Page 0,28

don't like it. I didn't hate what we did last night. I'm pretty sure it was better for me than it was for you though?? I look sidelong at him.

"If we use a condom, it'll have the same effect, right?" he asks me. "It won't stop the heat, but it'll give you relief?"

"It should," I nod. "I haven't actually tried it before." I'm a little excited by the prospect. "Do you actually want to do this? You're committing to keeping this up every night for at least a week."

"I know what I'm getting into. Believe me, I was up thinking about it all night. But I don't want to send you home. Not over something that isn't really your fault." He looks away for a moment. "Not that I'm saying it's my fault either," he clarifies. "It's just, I don't think you're the sort of person to risk losing your job over something as simple as forgetting suppressants."

I smile a little at his words. "I appreciate the confidence. But what changed your mind?"

He looks hesitant. "Something that Warren said this morning. I don't know what any of it means, exactly. I just?? he takes a deep breath and looks me in the eye. "How well do you actually know Anders?"

Somehow, I made it through the minefield that was this morning more or less in one piece.

I've also somehow managed to convince the finest omega I've ever met to have sex with me every night for the rest of the week. I mean, obviously, I'm doing it to help him out but I still feel like I'm on cloud nine because of it. I did try to clarify that I'm not expecting anything out of it. He doesn't owe me anything because of it either.

Still, as I glance across the beach to where he's serving drinks, I can't help but wonder what's going through his mind. He wasn't exactly pleased with my insinuations about Anders. Even though all I was doing was telling him what Warren told me, he still didn't take kindly to it.

But, my suspicions are once again drawn toward Isaac's roommate. Anders's friendship with Isaac started on the boat ride to the island. It was also initiated entirely by Anders. Isaac had never even seen him before. If I take Warren's testimony at face value, Anders did the same with him. Out of the blue, initiated contact, and came on to him.

Now, it could just be that Anders is an extremely charismatic omega and makes connections with other people easily, but I'm not so sure that's the case. Unfortunately, thanks to my invasion of their privacy this morning, I can't exactly probe the other omegas for details.

Isaac was angry at me for even asking him to spy on his friend. But I could see the concern on his face. I'm sure he's starting to ask the same questions I am.

For now, however, I can't actually focus on any of that. I've still got a job to do and it's demanding my full attention.

Apparently, we've got a thief on the loose.

Several guests filed complaints this morning, stating that various small items were missing from their rooms. Individually, the values aren't much. Twenty or thirty dollars max. Together, however, over a hundred dollars worth of items had just walked off in one night. I'm absolutely certain that, whoever the thief is, they're just getting started.

"Why the hell did I think opening a resort was a good idea?" Warren moans as he leans against the beach side bar. He's finally abandoned his suit and is wearing actual beach appropriate summer clothes. Though his wardrobe still probably cost as much as my monthly salary.

"This was supposed to be relaxing," he says, holding an ice-cold class of water to his forehead. "Instead it's giving me a damn migraine."

"You were the one that wanted to name it 'Shameless island.'" I look at him pointedly.

"Because off the clothing thing. It's a clothing optional resort. I didn't think it'd invite thieves into the mix." He tosses back some painkillers and quickly washes them down with a massive gulp of water.

"Any place that gathers the rich and famous together is going to attract thieves," I counter. "That's why you hired me, remember."

"I don't remember anything anymore," he whines. "I just want to take a massive nap in an air-conditioned room. When I wake up I want to be sandwiched between two beautiful omegas and laying in a pile of money."

I smile slightly. For all his moaning, Warren
