Old Ink (Get Ink'd #3) - Ali Lyda Page 0,38

life because the man was turning my limbs into noodles with his nearness. “I had to endure acting normal in front of all the guys, and I am pretty sure a receptionist touching himself in the middle of the shop is generally frowned upon.”

Reagan’s low chuckle vibrated through me, making my hairs stand on end. I felt like a live wire in his arms, ready to fire off.

“It isn’t always easy being back there, either,” he said, though there was an edge to his response I didn’t quite get. But then his eyes, which had briefly become shuttered, glazed over with longing.

“You aren’t making it easy for me to behave,” I said to Reagan. “It was your idea to go slowly.”

He peeled back, putting a small space between us—as if the minor distance didn’t make me even more hyper-aware of how well we fit together.

“You’re right,” he replied. “Are you free this weekend? I’d like to take you on a proper date.”

“We could start it now,” I teased, sliding my hand dangerously close to the erection pressed against the front of his jeans.

Reagan stepped back, laughing. “No way. I want time to prepare. Do you want me to pick you up, or would you rather meet at the theater?”

He was giving me a way to postpone telling my brothers about us, which I appreciated, but from Dane’s constant nudges and winks this week, that cat had long been let out of the bag. “You can pick me up. Christian and Dane won’t have a problem with us. They basically know already.”

Reagan didn’t say anything about that, but he wasn’t frowning, either, so I figured he must not be too upset. “Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow night at seven. We’re not doing anything fancy. I’m not a fancy guy. Is that okay?”

Okay? I’d been dreaming of this sort of interaction for years. He could tell me he was taking me to feed pigs and chickens and I’d be thrilled. We could be sorting trash in a dumpster and I’d be all over it, if it meant being all over him later. Who gave a fuck about fancy when someone like Reagan wanted to take them out? Not this guy, that was for damned sure.

“That’s perfect. I’ll see you then…” I paused, and then looked at him through lowered lashes. “Could I get a goodbye kiss?”

And that was how we feverishly made out for another thirty minutes. I left the shop with my hair mussed and my lips swollen and an erection so painful I jacked myself off in the car for relief. It barely took the edge off, my body apparently refusing to relax until it had been sated by Reagan.

Hopefully he was the kind of guy who put out on the first date.

Christian and Dane were wrapped up together on the couch in the living room when I got home. Before Reagan, I’d felt jealous of their displays of easy affection. Tonight, though, I didn’t mind at all—so long as hands weren’t down pants and there were still pants on, really.

As soon as they saw me, Dane paused the movie they’d been watching and uncurled his body from my brother’s. “Took you long enough to get home,” he said with a knowing twinkle in his eye. I could see him taking in my appearance, which I’d tried to put back in order… but possibly had failed at.

“Just making sure I don’t have a load of stuff to come back to at the shop on Monday.” But then I decided I wasn’t going to lie or pretend like something wasn’t going on. I’d just told Reagan my brothers knew. Why continue with the pretense that nothing was going on?

“Also I made out with Reagan, and he’s taking me on a date tomorrow night.” There. Band-Aid ripped right the fuck off.

Chris’s eyes practically bugged out of his head. “Are you serious?” he asked as Dane punched the air and yelled, “I won!”

My brows knitted together, and I held up a finger. “One, yes, I’m very serious.” A second finger joined the first. “Two, what the hell did you win?”

Dane started laughing like a maniac. “There’s been a pool at work about whether the two of you would actually succumb to your oppressive sexual chemistry by the end of the summer, and when. I said midsummer, Mateo had you down for just before you left for school, and Bryce was in for you wouldn’t, but would continue to pine. So thanks for taking
