behind our heads since the curtain wasn’t closed. I lay straight and as stiff as a board next to him, blinking up at the ceiling. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to be there in bed with him. I did. I liked his assertiveness, his confidence. I got off on those things, of someone else taking control. But my nerves were getting the better of me.

Did I make a move? Was that what he was waiting for?

I wasn’t sure my nerves would let me reach out and touch him.

I was in Saint’s bed. With him.

Never would I have thought I’d be here. Not with Saint.

He rolled my way, and in the next second, he had my body facing toward the door, and he was flush to my back with an arm over my waist.

What was this?

“Saint—”

“Shush, and it’s Zion. It’s time for sleep.”

Maybe I could if there wasn’t a hard-on pressing into my ass. My body had a mind of its own and pushed back against it. Also, what was the deal with him wanting me to call him Zion? He groaned. “No moving. Sleep.”

Was he serious? “Are you serious?”

“Yes.”

I stilled when I felt his lips on my shoulder and then the back of my neck. There he whispered, “Unless you wanna tell me what you do with that dildo?”

Fuck no.

“I could use some sleep,” I said quietly.

His chuckle swept over the side of my face as he leaned up on one elbow. “That’s what I thought.” He pressed his lips to my jaw. “Now, I like being the big spoon. You good with the little?”

I nodded, but… holy, holy fuck. He actually wanted to go to sleep. With me in his arms. Of course my dick was going to notice—especially when his dick was still hard and up against my ass. How did he expect me to sleep like this?

My mind and body were buzzed.

He lay back down and curled me into him more, sliding his arm under my neck and hooking it gently around my shoulders.

This was hugging.

Saint was hugging me like he’d done it a million times.

He kissed the back of my neck. “Relax.”

“How?” I said before I could stop myself.

I felt his smile on my skin. “Sleep’ll come. We just gotta relax.”

“You’re huggin’ me like I’m your own personal teddy bear, but you’re pressed so tight I can feel everythin’.”

He laughed. “It’ll go down eventually. Just relax. Tell me what it’s like livin’ with Boom and Wendy.”

He was good; that was an instant boner killer. Except, as I spoke, his hand over my waist started running up and down my side.

“You touchin’ me like that won’t help the situation. Even when I’m talkin’ about Boom.”

His laugh was louder. “Got it.” He slid it back over me. “Let’s get some shut-eye then. But I just wanna say I’m glad you have them in your life. Glad Boom took you in.”

“Yeah,” I whispered. “So am I.”

I didn’t think sleep would find me, but it did. I’d have my freak-out another day when it registered that I drifted off in the arms of Zion “Saint” Storey.

As I stretched, sleep evaporated and awareness locked in. I opened my eyes and looked beside me. The bed was empty. I glanced around the room to make sure what I thought happened had, and when I saw Saint’s things, I relaxed a little. Only a little, though, because I was still in Saint’s house, in his room and bed, after sleeping beside him all night.

Then I remembered when I woke in the middle of the night. I needed to piss something fierce. Saint had still been at my back. I managed to move out without him waking and went to the bathroom. It wasn’t until I was back in the bedroom that I realized I should have made a dash for it. But then I looked down at Saint. He’d gone to his back when I wasn’t there. The blanket was down at his waist, his body on display for me to look at with the moonlight shining in.

Christ, he was stunning.

I didn’t want to run then. I didn’t want to fear the next day and what would happen. So I lay back down. Only I did it facing him, and I even scooted closer, slowly and gently resting my hand on his chest.
