nose and half of my face buried in the pillow. I smiled back at him. “I am.”

He slid into bed on his side and picked up the remote. “Want to watch some TV?”

“Sure,” I said as I let my eyes close. “If I fall asleep, feel free to wake me.”

Travis grabbed my wrist and tugged on it. “Come over here.”

I opened my eyes to see him pat his chest.

This was an invitation I’d be crazy to turn down.

I scooted over, and he slid an arm under my neck. I pushed my body flush with his, resting my head on his shoulder.

He kissed my forehead. “Go ahead. Close your eyes.”

And I did just that.

TRAVIS

I rubbed Sydney’s back, enjoying her half-lying on me. But that wasn’t the only thing I enjoyed. I’d had fun with her all night.

The more I was around her, the more I liked her, and I planned to see more of her when we got back home.

I remembered how she had said we were kind of friends. She thought we were barely friends. Obviously, she was unsure of where I stood, and I was probably to blame for that. I had kissed her and ran.

But maybe I could do something to start now, so she would know that I saw us as more than kind of anything.

Sydney’s breathing had changed almost as soon as she lay down, so I could tell she was sleeping. Very gently, I used the arm that wasn’t holding her to reach down to the floor for my jeans that I’d thrown to the side of the bed when I’d undressed. Once I found those, I felt around until I found my phone in my pocket and pulled it out.

I opened Instagram and hit the plus sign to add a new post. My photos opened, and I looked through the ones I’d taken tonight. I had a few of Sydney and a couple that we had taken together as selfies. I picked my favorite of each. I wrote a comment about having a great time that night with Sydney, but I couldn’t find her.

I could have sworn that Sydney was on Instagram.

Going back to the home page, I used the search button to look for her.

I had to scroll through a few, but there she was.

Hmm. I could see that she’d followed me, but I’d never followed her back. I immediately hit the button to remedy that. Maybe that was part of why she’d thought we were only kind of friends.

I went back to posting the pictures of us from earlier that night and added, Had a great time with this lady tonight. I hit Share and set my phone down.

Hopefully, that would help to let her know how I felt.

SYDNEY

I awoke the next morning, disorientated. I didn’t quite have a hangover, but I could feel the effects of the alcohol on my sleep.

I was going to need lots of coffee to get myself up and running for the day. Thank heavens the signing didn’t start until one in the afternoon.

I reached for my phone that I’d been smart enough to put on the nightstand when I’d gotten undressed last night, but there was something hindering my movements.

I pulled up the covers to see Travis’s arm around me.

I immediately smiled.

I’d fallen asleep in his bed, and apparently, he didn’t mind me being there.

I went for my phone again, careful not to disturb Travis. I hit the button to wake up my screen to see that it was already almost eleven in the morning.

Crap. That meant I needed to get moving. I still had to set up for the book signing.

I was looking forward to it, as always, but right now, I was really enjoying lying in bed with Travis.

I decided going through my notifications was a good excuse to stay in bed for a few more minutes.

I checked my messages, my e-mails—both personal and author e-mails—and then Facebook. That took me a good ten minutes. I didn’t have anything from Twitter, which wasn’t a surprise because I wasn’t on it very much. I did have a couple of notifications from Instagram.

I opened the app and saw that Travis had finally followed me, and he’d tagged me in a post.

I admitted it. I was giddy. Especially when I saw his caption. Had a great time with this lady tonight.

I had the sudden desire to see his face, but I didn’t want to wake him. I pulled up the camera on my phone and flipped the
