To My Arrogant Boss (The Inappropriate Bachelors #2) - J. S. Cooper Page 0,41
“I’ll tell you guys once we hit the dance floor.”
“Wow.” Magnolia grabbed my hand. “I cannot wait to hear what happened.”
“It wasn’t all that, guys. Trust me.” I shook my head, aware that I wasn’t telling the truth.
“Maybe not to you.” Millie laughed. “But when you’re me and you haven’t had any action for years, then you’d be happy to take any secondhand crumbs.”
“I’m sure that you have plenty of guys after you!”
“Haha, then you’d be wrong. The only guy I’ve had after me in the last couple of days was a dog that got loose from his leash. There was a ball ahead of me and I thought he was chasing me, but he was only after his ball.” She shook her head. ‘‘Even the dogs don’t really want me.”
“Oh, Millie!” I couldn’t help laughing. “Maybe you’ll meet someone tonight.”
“Maybe.” She didn’t look convinced. “I’m not sure I’m going to meet Mr. Right at a nightclub called Booty, no offense, guys.”
“None taken.” Olivia smiled at her. “But if you did, what a story that would be, right?”
“It would be quite a story,” I agreed, and then because I didn’t want to leave them hanging, I added, “Let’s just say Tate got some boob action in the steam room.”
“Oh, no way!” Millie’s eyes widened. “Titty fuck?”
“Millie, NO!” I shook my head vehemently. “Nothing like that.” For some reason, I didn’t tell them I’d also let him finger me, maybe because I didn’t want to share everything. That felt a lot more intimate than just letting him play with my boobs, and I wanted to keep it to myself.
“Sounds hot, though.” Millie smiled enviously. “Damn, I really need to get laid. The last man that touched my boobs called them his ‘fun bags.’ Let’s just say it was not so much fun for me.”
“It was fun for me, but I don’t really know if it meant anything. He is my boss, after all.” I made a face.
“Yeah, true, but doesn’t that make it even sexier?” Millie grinned. “Like some sort of forbidden fruit.”
“I don’t want to eat any forbidden fruit, and I don’t want to be forbidden fruit.”
“How kinky is that, though?” Millie sighed. “Man, I need to stop.”
“Yes, you do.” I smiled at her. “Trust me, it’s a lot more complicated than it is hot.”
“Really?” She looked surprised.
“Well … It’s pretty hot, too,” I admitted. “I’m not going to lie.”
“We’re here, girls.” Olivia stopped in front of the club. Immediately, it was clear that she’d had been right: we’d arrived far too early. There was no one waiting in line. There weren’t even any bouncers outside. The club was dead.
“What’s going on, ladies?” Jagger and Tate caught up to us and surveyed the group.
“We’re here too early.” Magnolia walked over to Jagger and placed her hand lovingly on his chest. “I’m not sure we should go inside yet.”
“Oh.” Jagger shrugged. “So, what shall we do?
“Why don’t we go and get some more shots?” Tate suggested. “My treat. I know a cool place we can go to.”
“You do?” I raised an eyebrow at him.
“Yes, I do.” He grinned. “Even you will be impressed, Jane.”
“You think you can impress me?”
“I haven’t already?” He winked at me and I blushed.
“No, no you haven’t.”
“Well, then I need to step up my game.”
“Am I missing something here?” Jagger looked back and forth between Tate and me.
“No, honey,” Magnolia assured him as she stepped on tippy-toes to give him a kiss.
“Lead the way, boss,” Millie said confidently. “I’m not going to say no to a free shot or two.”
“Or three,” Olivia added, and we all laughed.
“Where are we?” I looked at the facade of the store we were standing outside of. “Why did you bring us to a pawnshop?”
“I needed money to buy the drinks.” Tate‘s face was serious. “I’m going to pawn my watch.”
“What?” My jaw dropped. “No way.”
“Let’s go inside and you’ll see.”
A bearded man with a goofy smile greeted us as we walked in. “Welcome to the pawnshop. Look around and let me know if there’s anything I can help you with.” I looked around the small shop. There wasn’t much in the store to buy.
“We’re here for the bar.” Tate walked over to the counter. “If you can help us, kind sir.”
Everyone else, even Jagger, looked as confused as I was. What bar was he talking about? Had he gone crazy?
“Oh, yeah?” The guy with the goofy smile frowned a little. “Do you mean the pub next door?”
