To My Arrogant Boss (The Inappropriate Bachelors #2) - J. S. Cooper Page 0,3

New York City we’d always gone to a bar on Friday nights. Sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with friends. We’d have some shots and talk about stocks and football before making small talk with a group of women and honing in on the two that we wanted.

Jagger would tell the story of his childhood love to garner sympathy (though I knew I couldn’t tell Magnolia that), and I’d talk about being the youngest guy at my hedge fund to make a billion dollars in profit for our clients. Women couldn’t stop themselves from fawning over me once they realized I was rich as well as hot.

I grinned as I soaped up my cock. I was feeling horny and wondered if I had time to rub one out. There were only three other guys at the gym, and the chance of one of them walking in and catching me was slim, but I knew better than to risk it. If I was going to get caught in the showers, it would be with someone else—and not Plastic Titties outside, either.

I turned the water temperature all the way down and almost jumped out of my skin when the cold water hit me. Shit! I felt like I’d taken a dip in the Arctic Ocean, but at least my erection was gone. I was going to try and get to the office early today. My employees often gathered in the kitchen to talk, and I loved their salacious gossip, though I would never have admitted that to them. Especially coming from a background in Wall Street where 90% of my colleagues had been male, working in an office with all women was a new and different experience for me. Women thought differently and worked differently. I actually enjoyed being in an office with all women, even though I hadn’t planned it that way.

Out of my five employees, one, Magnolia, had been chosen for the position by Jagger. The other four had been the best candidates that the agency had found. Magnolia, Jane, Millie, Birdy, and Olivia were all excited about my startup, and I truly felt like they were doing everything they could to help make 800 Club a success. Even if half of them rubbed me the wrong way.

Well, if I was honest, it was only Jane who rubbed me the wrong way—and not the sort of rubbing I enjoyed … asides from on the first day. On the first day, she had quite literally rubbed me. I grinned at the memory. Maybe it was because she had teased me on her first day that I was so antsy around her. I turned the shower off and headed to my locker.

I pulled out my duffle bag and unzipped it, images from Jane’s first day in the office flooding my mind. I couldn’t stop the smile from spreading on my face. It had been an unfortunate day, but funny all the same. It wasn’t like I’d planned it. Not that that really mattered, of course, but still, the fact that she’d played along for a few minutes had been gold. My cock twitched, and I leaned back against the locker as memories of that day flooded in.

Chapter 2

Jane

“I brought you guys something.”

I held up a brown paper bag as I entered the office kitchen. I’d gotten to work five minutes late today because I’d stopped to pick up some breakfast for my friends at work. Magnolia, Millie, Birdy, and Olivia were all my coworkers at 800 Club, and every morning we met up in the kitchen to gossip before we started work. And this morning was no different; they were all sitting there drinking coffee varying degrees of awe on their expressions. Millie, Birdy, and Olivia were staring at Magnolia’s engagement ring and oohing and aahing. I walked over to the table and placed my bag on the table.

“Ooh, what did you bring?” Magnolia’s brown eyes looked excited as she smiled at me.

“Jane, please tell me you didn’t bring doughnuts.” Millie rubbed her stomach. “I’m meant to be on a diet.”

“I didn’t bring doughnuts.”

“No!” Millie moaned. “I could literally kill for a doughnut right now.”

“But you just said …” My voice trailed off as Olivia giggled and rolled her eyes.

“Millie started the keto diet. Her body misses carbs,” Olivia explained to me. “Ignore her, she’s having a battle with food.”

“Aw, I understand.” I patted Millie’s shoulder as I brushed past her. “How long has it been?”

“Since this morning.” She grinned. “And
