To My Arrogant Boss (The Inappropriate Bachelors #2) - J. S. Cooper Page 0,23

we can discuss it on Sunday at the lunch I’m cooking?” Magnolia said. “Jagger and Tate are going to go and play Frisbee golf at Golden Gate Park in the morning while I’m cooking. You guys can come over early and we can discuss tonight.”

“That sounds like a plan to me,” I said and the other girls agreed. “Okay, I better pack up my desk and get ready for tonight.” I grinned at everyone. “I have a note to write in fifteen minutes.”

“Good luck, girl.” Magnolia giggled. “Don’t write anything I wouldn’t write.”

“Uh huh,” I said with a laugh. We both knew that there was nothing she wouldn’t write in her notes. I watched as the girls walk away then grabbed the gold pen and started writing quickly.

To Mr. Tate Howard,

You’re not into plastic titties and I’m not into men that have to use penis pumps and Viagra. So I guess that means you’re zero for two. You asked me how daring I am? Well, I guess you already know the answer because I wrote you a letter, didn’t I? Would I be this daring in person? If I thought you could handle the truth, yes.

However, it seems to me that you’re a man who’s all talk and no action. You talk a good game, but I’ve got the feeling that you leave women wanting in more ways than one. If my dildo can do it better, then why would I need you? You might have a big head, but I have a feeling that’s all that’s big. Get some humility and a life.

Your Secret Not Admirer

I reread the note and smiled. It was a little aggressive, but I was happy with it. I’d figure out a way to slip it into his bag at the gym and hopefully that way he’d still be none the wiser that it was me who had left him the note.

Chapter 7

Tate

Jane walked like she was a model on the catwalk, her long legs striding with purpose and her hips swinging from side to side as if she owned the street. Her long black hair shimmied with each step, and I was enjoying the view of her ass from behind.

“Are you going to walk behind me the entire way or what?” She turned around and glared at me. “I have no idea where we’re going, so it would be nice for you to lead the way.”

“That’s a surprise,” I said as I increased my deliberately slower pace. “You seem like the sort of woman who wants to be in charge of everything.”

“I have no idea what that means or what it has to do with me following you to our location.” Jane glanced sideways at me and I smiled at the little frown on her face. The expression on her face didn’t matter; she was always beautiful.

“Do you prefer to be on top or on the bottom?” I asked her slyly, waiting for understanding to hit her as she listened to what I said.

“None of your business.” She blushed. “Where are we going?”

“I figured you could get some workout clothes at Nordstrom’s. Or maybe Saks.”

“What?” She looked at me like I was crazy. “I don’t think so.” She sighed and pulled out her phone. “Let me check Yelp and see what’s around.”

“What’s wrong with Nordstrom’s?”

“Do I look like I want to spend $200 on a pair of workout leggings when I can pay $20 at a normal place?”

“Nordstrom’s isn’t normal?”

“It’s not the sort of place where I would buy workout clothes, no.” Her finger scrolled on her screen. “Okay, follow me, we’re going to go to Ross. I can most probably get a pair of pants and a top for $15.”

“$15?” I raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Really.” She nodded and grinned. “When you’re on a budget, you become a budget shopper.”

“I guess so.” The word budget was foreign to me. I’d never had to have one in my life.

“Growing up, my family and I didn’t have much,” she continued. “I learned to understand the value of a dollar.”

“And you think I don’t understand the value of a dollar?” I cocked my head as we continued walking.

“Not like I do.”

Normally I would just let the conversation go, but I was actually intrigued to hear more. “Oh, yeah? So where did you grow up?”

“Los Angeles.” She looked at me and studied my face for a few seconds. “In Hollywood actually, Little Armenia to be exact.” She smiled. “And no, we’re not Armenian, we’re Mexican, that’s just where
