“I thought your line of work was more for the evening.”

“The evening?” I looked at him with a frown. “No. Why would you think that?”

“Why do you think?” He wasn’t making any attempt to hide the lust in his eyes. Norse was full-on, and I was starting to think that he was just a giant flirt and a player. “Don’t you need to reach people when they’re off of work, normally?”

I thought for a moment about his question. I supposed he thought that people would be more engaged with marketing once they saw they didn’t have to focus on their job. He was wrong of course, and he was only thinking about people who had a 9–5 job, but I wasn’t going to correct him. “I can be effective at all hours.” I smiled. “That’s why I was hired.”

“I thought you were hired because you were sexy as hell. Just my type.”

“Uhm, okay.”

We made our way back to the office, and as we stepped inside the building he turned to me. “Hey, I know I might be a bit direct but don’t get mad at me. When I like something, I go for it. And I really like you.”

“Wow, I wasn’t expecting that.”

“Don’t get me wrong. I know what this is.” He threw his hands up and laughed. “This will be unlikely to happen again tomorrow, but today we can have some fun. Am I right?”

So Norse was on the same page as me. He realized that it would be awkward to have a relationship with someone in the office, no matter how much chemistry we had with each other. I respected him for being honest. I liked that in a man. Too many men played games and lied with you. I appreciated him being upfront. He thought I was hot, I thought he was hot, and today we could both just enjoy that. Tomorrow, we would be professional.

“Sounds good to me. Today we just enjoy it. Tomorrow, meh.” I grinned. “Let’s head up to the office.”

“So eager.”

“Perhaps.” I laughed and we made our way back up to the office. The door was open when we got there, and I wondered if Mr. Howard was going to be upset that we weren’t already there. I also wondered how many new employees that he’d hired. I knew very little about the company other than the fact that it was a brand new startup.

“Hello?” I said as we walked into the office. There was no one else there. “Hello, Mr. Howard?”

“It’s just us.” Norse came towards me. “What should we do?”

“I don’t know.” I smiled shyly and a devil must have come over me in that moment because I took my blazer off slowly and flung it on a table. Norse’s eyes widened as he stared at me in my short skirt and silky top, with the very deep v-neck.

“Are you not wearing a bra?” He slipped his hands around my waist.

“Of course I am. It’s just a half-cup, that’s all.” I grinned up at him. “I like to feel sexy, so I dress sexy for myself.”

“Well, sexy mamacita, can you dance for me?” he asked with a sly smile.

Without thinking, I grabbed his hands to do a salsa. I was surprised that he knew the steps and even some advanced moves. As he spun me around and twirled me, I reached my hands up to his face and ran my fingers across his lips. We stood there for a few seconds, and because I must have thought I was in some sort of movie, I pushed him down into a chair and started swaying my hips in front of him. I lowered my ass onto his lap and started gyrating as if I were doing a lap dance. But when his hands slid from my waist down my hips and started to pull my skirt up, I began to have second thoughts.
