Moving On (Rolling Thunder #7) - P.J. Fiala Page 0,80
my legs are like jello now?"
She laughed, and crawled off the bed, heading for the bathroom once again. He allowed himself a bit of time to regain all of his senses, then he followed her into the bathroom, and hopped in the shower while she brushed her teeth.
Damn vixen.
But, today was the first day of the beginning of their lives as husband and wife. Tonight, he'd make sure she had no regrets.

They walked into the Judge's chambers, which was beautifully appointed. The floor to ceiling wooden walls with the golden seal of the State of Colorado, and little else was rich and warm, but a bit austere for a wedding. Maybe they could have a vow renewal in a few years and make it more of something they'd want for their celebration. They'd have made friends here by then, it would be fantastic. He thought about his conversation and tried pushing it away.
Judge Webster walked in through another door that was part of the wall. It surprised her to see it open. The judge then smiled at them.
"That goes to the courtroom."
She was wearing her robe smartly with nothing of her clothing showing except her navy pant legs from under her robe. A string of pearls draped at her neck was the only adornment she wore. No earrings, no bracelets, no rings. Her light hair was pulled back into a bun at the back of her head, but her bangs softened the severe hairstyle.
Relaxing a bit, LuAnn returned her smile. "Very clever."
"So, you two want to get married?"
Chase finally spoke. "Yes, ma'am. We're moving to Durango in a couple of weeks and we want to start our life here as husband and wife."
"How long have you known each other?"
Chase turned his head and met her eyes. He smiled, took her hand, kissed her knuckles and softly responded. "Five years."
Judge Webster smiled. "That’s a much better answer than I usually get." She lay some papers on her desk then turned to face them.
"I can marry you here in my office, in the courtroom or across the street in the park."
LuAnn jumped to answer first, "In the park, please." Looking up at Chase, "It's alright, isn't it?"
"I think it's perfect."
Judge Webster opened a file drawer, pulled out a sheet of paper then looked up at them. "You have your marriage license with you?"
Chase pulled it from his back pocket and handed it to the judge. "Right here."
She opened the license, looked everything over, then looked at the sheet of paper she'd just pulled from her drawer.
"You can sign everything here then we can go to the park and you can say you're vows. It's very pretty this time of year."
The judge pointed to where they'd each sign their names, then she signed the license, picked it up and tucked it in a book. Standing she began walking toward the door they'd entered as she said, "Let's go get you officially married."
They walked downstairs and on their way out of the courthouse, Judge Webster stopped at the front desk and said something to the woman seated there. She nodded, then got up and left.
Chase held her hand all the way to the park, his fingers were firm but not in a nervous grip more as if he was worried she'd take off running. Crazy thinking, she'd never do that. More than ever, she knew he was the one, the one she'd spend her life with. Maybe they'd even have children. They hadn't talked about it, but as she looked into his eyes, having a child that was part him and part her would be amazing.
They entered the park grounds with its plush grass and colorful flowers. One end was a playground filled with laughter. Moms and dads sat on benches chatting and smiling at their children. The other end had a small pond and a covered patio or grandstand.
Judge Webster turned to them quickly, "That would be a beautiful scene for your vows, do you agree?"
Chase answered first. "Perfect."
When he looked down into her eyes she softly blurted out, "Do you want to have kids one day? We haven't talked about it."
Chase stopped following the judge and turned to face her. Taking both of her hands in his, he kissed her lips quickly then answered her. "I would love to be a father. Do you want kids?"
She was almost breathless. "Yes. Yours. I want your children."
He kissed her again, then said, "Let's get married so we can start on that."
