does the same thing to my wrist while he whispers something incomprehensible.

I’m so happy and so sleepy all of the sudden. I can’t remember why I was so sad earlier, or what I was worried about. It all seems silly now as I snuggle up to the guy closest to me and nuzzle my cheek against his strong chest.

I know without a doubt that I’m their mate now. Caelan, Maalik, Audun, and Reule. I’m theirs, and they’re mine.

Chapter Twelve

Reule

Something tickles my nose, and I smile when I catch Isla’s scent. I open my eyes slowly, my heart stuttering in my chest when I find my wife lying beside me. My head is pounding like I had too much to drink last night, but it’s well worth it for waking up like this. I don’t think anything in the universe could dampen my mood right now.

“Reule!” Maalik growls my name quietly as he kicks my foot.

I fight back a groan. Can’t he just let me enjoy this for a little while? My eyes wander over Isla’s form. She’s lying between me and Audun with her face pressed against his chest. He’s holding her close with his arm around her waist, and some of her hair has fallen over my face and shoulder.

My hand is resting delicately on her hip, and I rub my hand over her smooth skin. She’s so soft, every inch of her. I don’t want to wake her up, so I stop my movements before I get too carried away.

Maalik’s scowling when I turn my head to face him. He’s wearing a towel around his waist, and his hair is still wet while water drips down his torso and shoulders. Our brothers and Isla are still fast asleep, so I don’t understand what would possess Mal to be up and about already. It looks like he relit the fire, so I’m grateful for that.

I stand up slowly, taking my time to stretch out my muscles. I’m still stark naked, and that reminds me of everything that happened last night. The most incredible night of my long, tedious life.

“What?” I hiss irritably when Mal continues to glower at me.

“Just come here,” he says, baring his teeth.

I follow him through the living room and widen my eyes when he stops in front of my bedroom door. There are clothes and blankets and all sorts of random shit strewn about the hallway.

“What happened?” I whisper.

Maalik points into my bedroom, a stony expression on his face. “Isla tore our rooms apart. She must have done it after we left last night, but we were all too distracted to notice anything when we came back.”

I peek my head into my bedroom. All of the drawers of the wardrobe and bedside tables are pulled open with items spilling out. Every article of clean clothing I own is scattered across the room and my bedsheets are rumpled and hanging over the edge. Even one of the curtains has been pulled down so that it’s hanging askew in the window.

It looks like a damn lutin snuck in here to wreak havoc. I have to cover my mouth with my hand to hide my bemusement at my angry little kitten.

“She was so angry at us,” Maalik growls. At first I assume he’s pissed off, but when I turn to meet his eyes again, I realize he’s terrified. “I don’t think I can handle her being this angry at me. When she wakes up…”

He trails off, and I step around him to peer into my brothers’ rooms. She didn’t touch the office or the bedroom we’ve been using for storage—the bedroom that was always meant to be hers—but Caelan and Audun’s rooms are just as messy as mine. I snort when I step in front of Maalik’s room. The now-very-familiar scent of our wife’s arousal is lingering heavily in the air here.

“She must have been extra angry with you, Mal.” I chuckle.

Maalik grimaces. His face and ears are as red as his hair. “I know.”

I look around quickly again to reassess the damage. “You’re not upset at her, are you? She was probably affected by the Beasts’ Moon, and she didn’t want us to leave. It doesn’t look like she broke anything.”

“I know she was affected by the Beasts’ Moon.” Mal grunts angrily as he narrows his eyes at me. “That’s what I’m trying to tell you. If she was pissed enough last night to do this, how’s she going to feel when she wakes up with a
