look at him and lift a shoulder.
He nods. What that nod means, I don't know.
"Hurry, in me, now," I rush. I don't want to lose this moment by the others coming back.
"Yeah," he murmurs, grabbing the condom and putting it on. He positions himself at my entrance, then slowly sinks in. We both moan. He's big and it's a little uncomfortable, so I'm grateful when he pauses. Slowly, I relax and adjust.
"Okay?" He asks.
"Yes, thank you."
His mouth tips up in a smirk. "Thank me when we're done."
"Arrogance. Let's see if you live up it," I taunt.
He starts to move. It's all slow and deliberate motion, I move my hips with his. He knows I'm close to the edge and he takes me there. The orgasm strong, body shaking, heart stopping.
"You're beautiful when you let go. Let's try that again."
"Trace…"
"Mhm. Again."
He moves faster, deeper, and all I can do is hold on for the ride. We kiss and kiss and kiss while he thrusts deep, so deep, gradually picking up speed. When he hits that spot just right, I gasp.
"There we go," he breathes. His face is covered in a sheen of sweat that dampens his short hair.
"More," I beg.
Trace picks up speed, pounding into me hard and fast, and it isn't long before I come again, biting into his shoulder as I do. He lets out a long groan, his body shuddering, as he comes with me.
He collapses just to the side of me. We're both sweaty and panting. Why is this not awkward? Normally this is the moment it gets awkward.
"Did I measure up?" he asks.
I smile. "Definitely. A plus."
"Is this going to get weird?"
Of course he has to ask. He knows I won't.
"Not if we don't let it."
He nods, sits up and rids himself of the condom.
"Good, because I'm very much going to enjoy fucking you every way possible, and then starting all over again."
"I'm looking forward to it," I answer, pulling my clothes back on as he does his.
When we're clothed, he looks at me with smoldering eyes. "Me too, Meg. Me too."
And that, my friends, is how we got together.

“Holy shit! Did that just happen?” Spenser shouts, his voice shaking as he clings to Carmine, his boyfriend, who just came out of the treatment room. When the explosion went off, glass and cement, debris, flew everywhere, and poor Carmine got cuts all over his face. Thank God they're superficial or I think Spenser might have completely lost it.
We’re all in the ER. We’ve been advised to get checked out—just in case.
Linc got hit on the back with some falling debris in the form of what I consider to be a boulder. His scapula was already cracked from his attack, and now it’s cracked a little more.
Trace got hit in the same way but with smaller debris and a ton of it, and he’s only bruised. Only. My big tough guy isn't letting it affect him in any way. At least not where anyone can see.
Cage got shot. He took a bullet to his shoulder, through-and-through, so after being stitched up, he should be good to go. Just like that, he walks out of a room like nothing happened.
Jesse got shot. A bullet grazed his upper arm, so he’s getting stitched up while sitting next to Lucy’s bed where she’s been sedated. Luce lost her shit. Christ, who can blame her? Her brother’s been blown to bits—literally. She cried so hard she made herself sick.
Mama Russo… well, Mama’s in a bad way. I’ve never seen her cry and tonight she howled in agony that lanced through my heart. She dropped to her knees and cursed the gods, Anthony right there with her.
Giovanni Russo is stoic. I’m not gonna bullshit you. That old man scares the fuck out of me and seeing the lack of anything on the outside only means one thing—the rage burning inside him is an inferno. I’d hate to be on the receiving end of that.
They haven’t said who they think it is, but I’m sure they have their suspicions. Likely we’ll hear more when we get back to CFD where we’re all going to be staying. On lockdown. Even Sera and Cage.
Me and Trace aren’t too keen on the idea. Trace isn’t a fan of kids, and they're running around that place like it’s a kiddie parade.
“You all right?” I ask Sera.
She nods. “Just a bit shaken up.”
“And destroyed at the loss of your cousin,” I remind her.
“There's just so much happening right
