One of the nurses managed to get hold of the needle and ram it into my neck and I hissed and spat like a wild cat just before the drug took effect. For the second time tonight, I was pulled away into a pit of darkness. And I was terrified of what fresh hell would await me when I awoke.

The lasting sound of my Night Keepers screaming my name chased me into the dark, and then I was lost to a sea of endless black.

__AUTHOR NOTE__

Okay guys, how was that? Are we feeling calm, cool, collected? Shall we all take a moment to celebrate the fact that the guys caught the Justice Ninja?! Woohoo *celebration emoji* *dancing emoji* … oh, that’s right there were two of them weren’t there…this is a little awkward…

Still, we got one of the bastards and it was none other than old ‘balls-on-face’ Bait and who doesn’t love a nice clean victory at the end of a book like that? No need to throw any devices across the room here, no need to brace yourself for impact falling off of a cliff, no siree, everything is looking up…mostly.

Okay, okay, there is that little itty bitty problem with Tatum being dragged off to some creepy lab to be used as a lab rat for some stuff and cheese but if we look at it objectively, she could very well save the world. And really, what’s one life in the face of SAVING THE WHOLE WORLD? So let’s not be unreasonable about this. She had her fun (who knew she’d get a three sausage sandwich on the dark lord’s bed without him present??) so she really has been living her best life and you can’t say fairer than that. If anything Troy Memphis is something of a philanthropist, making the hard call to benefit the whole of mankind. And let’s be honest, if Deepthroat was the one who was immune and had to be sacrificed to create a vaccine you’d be okay with it. So maybe this is a good point to leave the story at? No need for book 4, right? Do you agree? No? Fair enough then, we’ll be sure to let you know how this pans out in the next and final book which means NO CLIFF HANGER!! So hold on to your tightie whities because I’m sure it will be one hell of a bumpy ride but the 4th and final book in the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series is coming soooooon.

Also, out of curiosity, how are you all doing on Saint? We gave ourselves a challenge on that little cream cracker, that’s for sure, but is he starting to win you over? Were you screaming yes, yes, yes when it seemed like him and Tate might just get down and dirty and then no, no, no when he went all Saint Memphis over it and imploded? Do you remember when you thought he burned the letters? Are you starting to question some things now?

On a more serious note, I would just like to say that though this year has been one of the most challenging that we have all faced with the virus which won’t be named crashing in to wreck the party, I think it has been a great one for us to have found our strength and resilience and really prove to ourselves that we won’t let the world knock us down. There have been plenty of times when we all wanted to scream our frustration at the sky (and the people who thought eating raw wild bats was a great shout) but there have been a lot of wonderful family moments too where we have all had the chance to spend quality time with those people closest to us.

For me and Caroline personally, 2020 has been an amazing rollercoaster of a ride with our books and we can’t thank you guys enough for jumping onboard with us for all the loop the loops, flips and spins and we can’t wait to bring even more literary goodness your way for 2021.

We are working hard to hone our craft, pouring our hearts and souls into every page and making every effort to breathe life into our perfectly imperfect characters so that you guys can hopefully fall in love with them, hate them, rage at them and celebrate with them whenever they manage to triumph over the shit we throw their way – and yeah, I know that we can be kinda dicks with how much we do that.

Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey we are on! Each and every one of you holds a special place in our hearts and knowing that we have wonderful readers like you enjoying our books means the world to us. Not so long ago, we were just a pair of sisters who were always making up stories and saying that we should really write a book one day and thanks to you guys, we are living our dreams.
