Ink's Second Chance - Carol Dawn Page 0,18
where do I go from there?
My chair is on the other side of the bed. I can’t just get up and run. No matter how much I fight, he’s going to win.
But I don’t care. I keep yanking and biting, twisting, turning, and punching. In the end, as I knew, he won. But, not without a few battle wounds. Once my strength is gone, he tosses me on the bed.
“I’m impressed, Dove,” the man smiles through a bloodied and swollen lip. “I was expecting this to be easy but I’m happy to learn that you’re a fighter.”
“Come a little closer,” I dare. “I still have a little fight left.”
I casually reach near my pillow where I dropped my phone. Once I feel it, I grasp it tightly. I may not be able to call anyone, but I can sure give this dick a broken nose if I hit him with it hard enough.
“I don’t doubt it a bit, Dove,” he says. “But I have other plans.”
Just then, two other men walk into my room. They both have the same black hair, dark eyes, and wide nose that the first man has. They all look related.
“These are my cousins,” the man says. “Antonio and Frankie.”
“And you are?” I ask because he still hasn’t given me his name.
“You’ll learn who I am before I leave,” he says with a sinister smile. “Boys, do your worst.”
I watch with dread as the man leans against the wall and Antonio and Frankie make their way towards me.
I try to calm my racing heart but it’s of no use. I’m about to be beaten or raped. Possibly both and there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it.
I scream as loud as I can hoping one of my neighbors hears me, but I know it’s hopeless. We’ve heard screams in this apartment complex before and all that my neighbors do is poke their noses against the window while I call the police.
I squeeze my eyes shut as one of the men slams a hand against my mouth. I don’t dare open my eyes as my pajamas are ripped off and a rough hand squeezes my breast. I feel another hand cup my most private area and I let the tears fall.
I use every bit of strength I have to fight back. I move my upper body from side to side, I continue to hit something with the phone. But it’s no use.
I don’t stop fighting even though I know I won’t win. I can see Sammy behind my eyes screaming at me to not give up. I can feel his love encouraging me to stay strong. I can hear him tell me that I’ll make it through this.
I lay there, hands held above my head and a heavy body on my chest as the other man rapes me.
It seems to last for hours. But eventually, it stops. The weight on my chest leaves and the man between my legs leaves.
“Now, now, Dove,” the man says. My eyes are still shut tightly as I feel him sit on the bed beside me.
Using a gentle touch that I didn’t know evil possessed, he moves the hair off my face and wipes away the tears. I don’t dare move.
“It wasn’t all that bad, was it?” he says.
I slowly open my eyes and look at the man.
“So much strength behind those eyes,” he says. “Ink is lucky to have you, Dove. It’s a shame that I’m going to have to kill him.”
He stands and walks to my chair on the other side of the bed. I watch as he slowly unlocks the wheels and moves my only source of mobility to the other side of the room. Well out of reach.
“Who are you?” I ask, my voice rough.
He looks back and smiles a smile that I’ll have nightmares about for years.
“Sweet, sweet Dove,” he says in his heavy accent. “Why, I’m Roman Hernández, of course.”
Then he turns and leaves, his maniacal laughter following behind him.
I don’t move until I know they’re out of my apartment. When I’m sure that I’m finally alone, I lose it. Tears fall from my eyes in rivers that I can’t contain. My body hurts, I feel nasty and I want to take a shower. But, even more, I want Sammy.
The thought of Sammy makes me cry harder. I had doubt that he would want me because of my legs, now I know he won’t want me because I’m nasty. I’ll never get their touch
