Ink's Second Chance - Carol Dawn Page 0,1
you pig. I know exactly the type of man you are.”
I don’t answer his question because the fact that he doesn’t remember who I am really hurts my heart. Not that I would ever admit that out loud, though.
“You never answered my question,” he says, grin still in place. “Have we met?”
I roll my chair until I’m directly in front of him and he has to look down to keep eye contact.
“Well, it has been many years since you’ve seen my face,” I admit, still heated. “I also wasn’t in a wheelchair. Think really hard, Sammy. Think really hard about how you know me.”
I’ve watched Sammy over the years. I know all about him and his club. I know he’s called Ink, but I can never see him as anything other than Sammy.
I’m not a stalker. But I am best friends with one of the member’s sister. They call him Chains, and his sister, Laura, and I have been best friends for years.
Unfortunately for me, she tells me everything about the clubs’ members. I mean everything, including how Sammy likes to sleep with anyone with a vagina. It breaks my heart because I thought I loved him at one time.
“How do you know my real name?” he finally asks, his smirk gone. “Not many people know it, and only one person has ever called me Sammy.”
I say nothing as I wait for him to figure it out.
Yep. There it is. His eyes grow wide, and he smiles.
“Rachel?” he says. “My god, you’re beautiful.”
I fight back the tears.
“I’ve changed my mind about the tattoo,” I say.
I’m almost at the door when he speaks up.
“Hey, do you want to grab dinner with me?”
I stop and glare back at him.
“You expect me to have anything to do with you after the way you treated me back then?” I ask. Yes, I still hold a grudge. “You humiliated me. You took my heart, set it on fire, and stomped it beneath your feet. Do you remember any of this?”
He opens his mouth to say something, but I won’t allow it.
“Let me enlighten you,” I say. “Right after taking my virginity, bragging about it in front of the whole school, you turn right around and ask who you should go after next. So, no.” I’m practically screaming at this point. “No, I will not go grab dinner with you.”
“Rachel, sweetheart,” he says, clearly upset. “I was young. I’m different now.”
Just then, the curtain to some back room opens, and a tall, skinny, beautiful woman walks out.
“Thanks for the tat, Ink,” she says seductively. “And thank you for the extra bonus treat.”
She walks up and licks the side of his face. “I hope you were as satisfied as I was. Maybe next time you can play me a song naked.”
Sammy still has his eyes glued to me, completely ignoring the newcomer.
“Yeah,” I say, eyes watering. “You sure have changed. Just stay the hell away from me.”
Without another word, I open the door and push myself outside. It’s moments like these when I wish I could still use my legs. I would run away from this place as fast and as far as I could.
Chapter Two
Ink
Holy fucking hell.
Rachel Nicole Justice was just in my shop. I haven’t seen that girl since high school. I have to admit that what I did back then was a pretty dick move, but come on, I was seventeen years old.
I don’t care what Rachel says, I’m completely different now.
“How about you swing by my apartment when you get off work tonight. You can bring the guitar.”
I shake my head to rid of the distraction that is Rachel and smile at Heather.
“No can-do babe,” I say. “Got shit to do.”
“Until next time,” she says, seductively, before leaving.
Damn right there’s going to be a next time.
I’m halfway back to my station when I notice that junior never reacted to Heather’s promise.
Strange.
Usually, a promise from a willing female causes my dick to twitch with interest. Even if he was just spent.
I shove everything to the back of my mind and focus on the day’s clients.
Four tattoos’, and six piercings.
I love my job. I love inking up skin and I love the look of a satisfied customer. Inking women is my absolute favorite. Watching my hand gently glide over their skin while controlling the gun to ink what I want is as arousing as a woman naked in my bed.
I spend the next several hours in the zone. No thoughts enter my mind except the
