How To Wife Your Nanny A Billionaire Single Dad Romantic Comedy- Melinda Minx Page 0,26

to do it more subtle than in the tutorial, because I didn’t want Noah to think I was trying too hard. I was supposed to be babysitting his daughter, not going to some fashion show. Still, I remembered how everyone in the lobby looked at me like I was some kind of gross bug thing from a Kafka novel, and I did not want anyone to look at me like that again for the rest of this cruise.

The last thing I did, almost as an afterthought, was put on my earrings. They were the same ones I wore the first time I’d met Noah. The angel wings made out of leaves. They just happened to match the entire golden bronze look of my outfit. I just so happened to have them in my purse while we were in Flushing, and I decided they’d go well with this outfit.

When I was done, I thought I’d have time to have a rest on the spacious couch in my room, or maybe chill on my freaking private balcony and watch the skyline before the ship departed from the pier. There was no time for any of that though, when I checked the time, I had only a few minutes to spare. I’d used up a full two hours just showering, getting dressed, and putting on makeup.

I ran out of my room and down into the lower floors where I found Noah playing air hockey with Naomi.

“Ah!” he shouted. “You won again!”

He was still wearing his slacks and dress shirt. He hadn’t even removed his tie. Did he ever wear normal clothes? He’d at least taken his jacket off, and I could see now that his shoulders really were that wide. His arms were huge too. When he bent down to the tiny little children’s air hockey table, I realized that his butt was much nicer than I’d previously assessed.

My shoes were gold-colored wedges with a ton of straps going all up my ankle, but the heels were hard enough that they made a tap tap sound as I stepped onto the marble floor.

Noah looked up at me just as Naomi hit the puck into his goal.

His eyes ran down my body, and his jaw dropped.

“Holy shit,” he stammered.

I blushed so hard that I thought steam might shoot out of my ears.

“That’s a bad word, Daddy,” Naomi said.

Noah cleared his throat. “Well, don’t you think that dress looks good on Lacey?”

“You look very pretty, Miss Lacey Larsen,” Naomi said.

“Thank you, Naomi.”

Noah just grunted. He didn’t need to tell me I looked pretty. The way he was trying so hard not to stare at my tits was all I needed to see. The only time he managed to not look at my cleavage was when his eyes darted down to my legs. He finally pulled himself together and looked back up at me with a sheepish grin. “You look nice.”

“Thanks,” I said, nodding my head. “Do you...only ever wear suits?”

“Huh?” he asked.

I pointed to him. “Playing air hockey with a tie on?”

“Ah,” he said. “I need to go to a meeting.” He looked down at his watch. “I’ll be late if I don’t leave now, actually. I hope you two can have a lot of fun without me. You’ll certainly be having more fun than I am, I promise you that.”

“Not going to be partying with the authors?” I asked.

“Having drinks with Chance Charter and his girlfriend.”

“That doesn’t sound so bad.”

“Chance Charter is a huge dick. He’s insecure as hell, and it always feels like he’s trying to one-up me.”

“Don’t call people names, Daddy,” Naomi said.

“Sorry, sweetheart. I’m being a big potty mouth tonight, aren’t I?”

“You are. We need to wash your mouth out with soap.”

“I’ll do that tonight after I put you to bed.”

“You promise?”

He smirked at her, held his fingers up in the air, and crossed them. “I promise.” He winked three times.

“That doesn’t count!” Naomi said, giggling.

“I’m going to talk to Lacey for a minute outside, Naomi, she’ll be right back. Give me a kiss goodnight.”

He went over to Lacey and leaned down. He gave her two big kisses on each cheek, and then she kissed his forehead. “I don’t like kissing Daddy’s cheeks because his stubbles hurt my mouth.”

I smiled at her, but I was thinking of what that stubble would feel like against my skin. Well, I was trying not to think about that, but I couldn’t get the images out of my head.

Noah walked with me to the door.
