How To Evict a Hot Jock in Three Weeks - Anyta Sunday Page 0,27

steered poor Alexander to their assigned seating. Most people were dressed in casual shorts and fan T-shirts, but his darling Alexander shone like a gleaming diamond amongst coal in his cornflower-blue twill chinos, cream shirt, and navy blazer. His hair was styled, and his shoes and watch shone.

Alexander had frowned at Logan’s jeans and T-shirt but hadn’t commented. Logan might’ve suggested Alexander change to less formal attire if Alexander didn’t look so hot.

Alexander paused, staring out at the packed-dirt arena. “You said theatre.”

“Wait for them monster-truck stunts and tell me it’s not full of theatrics.”

“Oh,” Alexander smartly folded back his shirt cuffs, “that’s it, honey, you’re about to witness theatrics.” His eye caught on someone in their row. “What is my brother doing here?”

Logan chuckled. “I invited him. Luci too, wherever she is. More the merrier, no? Besides, I couldn’t wait for us to tell them. Did I cross a line with the monster trucks? Your brother?”

Logan made an oh, darn it fist.

Alexander’s face flashed with amused frustration. “This is perfect. I live for surprises.”

They sidled into the row in front of the railing.

Nico caught sight of them and waved, then eyed Alexander. “What are you wearing?”

Alexander grumbled under his breath and Logan grinned.

“Easy on your brother there.” Logan hugged Nico hello. “He’s the dashing’est man in this whole stadium.”

Logan pulled back in time to see Alexander’s pinking cheeks.

“I most certainly am not.”

Logan ran a slow, calculating eye over Alexander’s length. “Beg to differ.”

“Have you looked in the mirror?”

“So full of compliments.” Logan smiled. “A man could get used to it.”

Better not get used to it.

Luci snuck up on their left. “Hey, there,” she said as she side-stepped past them.

The way her eyes connected with Logan’s had him fearing for his life. “Hey, friend.”

Uh oh. Logan readjusted his cap. “Me?”

She smiled. Too sweetly. “I was on a date. I was this close to seeing the inside of my crush’s bedroom. This close.”

“Okay, yep. That’s close.”

“His phone vibrates between us, and it goes on and on, so I fish it out of his pocket and your name is flashing on it.”

“In all fairness, I didn’t know how close you were to being a guest in his bedroom.”

“Kind, concerned guy that Nico is, he took your call. You eagerly invite him to a monster truck rally—because Luci will be there and she’d love it—and you tell him to keep it to himself. Except he doesn’t. The rest of our date was Nico reciting an A-Z of epic monster trucks. The rest of the night, Logan. He researched whether we could still order crash-zone tickets.”

“Crash-what?”

“Exactly.”

Alexander was watching them intently. Logan could tell by the prickles at his neck. “Brother’s a fan, huh?”

Alexander picked lint off his spotless chinos. “The DNA test is still pending.”

Nico stirred in the seat beside him, turning an adorable shade of crimson. Luci threw herself onto his lap. “I’m just giving Logan shit.”

He murmured, “I didn’t know you wanted to be that close. We can leave so you can see my bedroom right now.”

She placed a finger on his lips. “Not until after we see Megasaurus chomp some cars . . .”

“Mega—you know it?”

“I looked it up. If it’s important to you, it’s important to me.”

“Even if I talk about it all night?”

Luci must have caught the insecurity in Nico’s expression, because her chin dropped and her self-assured posture vanished.

Luci took Nico’s hand. “I wouldn’t have changed last night for anything. I shouldn’t have joked. Joking’s stupid.”

Joking is how Logan had spent his relationships. Had he hurt all his girlfriends like this without realizing it? Was this the kind of behavior that stopped him being long-term material?

Nico tucked Luci’s hair behind her ear. “Your sass is one of the reasons I couldn’t stop admiring you at Luscious. Don’t change for me. I’m just embarrassed that I missed we were this close.”

She chuckled, and he swooped down and kissed her. Their following smile tugged at Logan’s heart.

Logan side-eyed Alexander and linked their hands.

“Mostly,” Nico said, looking over at them, “I was excited to see my brother here.” Nico grinned and Alexander made a low growl. “This might be the most fish-out-of-water I’ve seen him. Also, he once told me he’d ‘never be caught dead’ at one of these shows.”

Alexander glared at Nico and Logan felt the tension thrumming in him, like maybe he fancied wringing his brother’s neck. “People change.”

Nico’s smile softened.

“As do relationship statuses.” Logan pumped Alexander’s hand and crushed his lips against Alexander’s. He expected gasps or shocked
