Hott and Handled (The Hott Brothers #3) - Leah Sharelle Page 0,67
we can start on the carbies,” he said, reaching out his hand for a high-five.
“Brilliant,” Dillion crowed, then glanced at his father, “I have got uncles Dad and cousins, and two aunties, and a grandma who loves to cook biscuits. And Nixx gave me my own motorbike and a job! Isn’t that cool?” I smiled over at Dillion, his enthusiasm apparent being part of a loving family. I swore there and then that I would do everything in my power to make sure nothing stole his happiness ever again.
Alec stared at his son, his mouth twisting in an ugly scowl. I decided to give him five seconds to stop looking at his son like that before I smacked the scowl off his fancy face.
“Well Farron, it seems you do know what you are doing after all. Hitching yourself to money, very clever of you,” he sneered, his narrowed eyes now on my woman.
“Watch it mate, I don’t really want you talking to her, but if you must, you do so with respect,” I warned, then backed off when Farron’s hands covered mine.
“It’s okay honey, I’ve got this,” she whispered softly, looking back at me. I saw no fear, nothing in her beautiful, brown eyes that resembled her past taking her back to that bad place. No, she looked calm and happy.
“I’m here if you need me, baby,” I assured her, then let go of her standing at her back, but giving her the space to confront the douche.
“Alec, what do you want? I haven’t heard from you since our divorce. Dillion hasn’t heard from you in a long time. Too long for a father to go without speaking to his own child,” Farron accused heatedly.
Fuck she is beautiful. Unable to help the random thought from popping in my head, or the chuckle that escaped my lips.
Noxx and Hendrixx joined me with a laugh of their own, earning a glare from the douche and an eye roll from my girlfriend.
I really have to propose, fiancée sounded better than girlfriend, but then wife was the main goal.
“How the hell was I supposed to know this is where you live?” Alec demanded, not addressing the fact that he neglected his son.
“Oh, I don’t know dickhead, from the address on the back of the letters Dillion sent you, or on the divorce papers my solicitor lodged,” Farron screeched, throwing her hands in the air in frustration.
“Dramatics Farron, really? You always were good at making more of something than needed.”
“My god, you are such a dick, Alec. I can’t believe I wasted so many years begging you to love me.”
Alec spat out a laugh, his expression one of distaste as if she insulted him by mentioning love. Loving Farron was the greatest gift I have ever been granted. This dickhead had better watch where he is taking this or else another Hott brother will be delivering an arse-kicking today.
“Love? Are you serious? I never fucking loved you Farron, I barely tolerated your frigid, fat arse, you make me—”
“That’s it!” I bellowed, cutting off whatever foul insult Alec was about to spit at Farron. Not fucking likely, and not in front of her son.
Moving Farron to the side, I signalled for Noxx to take her and to get her away from Alec.
“Nixx no,” she spluttered, pulling against Noxx.
“Baby, he doesn’t talk that way to you ever. Dillion is here and that is unacceptable.” Leaning into her, I pressed my forehead to hers. “This is why I was given a second chance in life, Farron. To be with you, to protect you and Dillion. You have people on your side now baby, I love you, so please let me do this.”
“I love you too honey, just don’t hurt yourself, okay? And leave something for me, I still have to hit him with my news.” Farron gave me a pointed look then kissed me chastely before letting Noxx lead her to the side, positioning her between him and Drixx. Dillion had moved and was now standing next to Drixx, his fists were clenched at his side as if ready to handle his dad if needed. Hopefully he will never find himself in such a position, but meeting the douche and hearing his indifference towards his own child, I had a feeling this was going to be the last time he saw his sperm donor in person for a long time.
“First of all,” I started, getting up in Alec’s face, “I have to thank you for not knowing what
