It was me who told my mom that my brother needed to go to that school three years ago. She wanted him to go a public high school, but I begged her to give my brother the education that he deserved, and now the shit is coming to bite me in the ass. Sitting I put my phone back into my purse and heave out a sigh.
“What’s wrong Angel? Is everything okay?” Not wanting to get him involved, I look up and wipe the exasperation from my face.
“Everything is just great. Why do you ask?”
“I ask because you look tired and sad. Tell me what’s wrong.” I get up and shake my head.
“Nothing wrong here. Anyways I want to thank you for the meals they were absolutely delicious. I also want to thank you for offering me to take PTO on Saturday. You’re so sweet for that, you’ve shown me a different side to you that I may become very found of. That said, can you tell me where my car keys are?” I ask looking around in my purse not finding them.
“NO!” I jump and turn to him almost dropping my purse. Shocked by his outburst I look at him as if he’s lost his damn mind. Since I’ve been here, he has shown me nothing less than a sugar sweet version of himself, so why the sudden outburst? This the type of shit that made give him the side eye. Was last night this morning an act? As I look him over, he seems so be in a state of panic with his chest is rising and falling and his fists balled.
“Are you ok?” I step up to him to comfort him, but he grabs me and pulls me into a hug.
“I'm sorry for yelling Angel. I didn’t mean it. However, I do want you to stay here. If it’s a matter of things you need, I’m a provider and I protect and serve. Just tell me what you need, and I can get it here in an hour tops.” Shaking my head, I pat his belly.
“No its ok. I should get going. I don’t want to overstay my welcome. This is still new between us and I want us to take our time getting to know the real us.”
“We’ve been knowing each other well over three years it’s not that new, and I already know you and I lo-like everything about you.” He let out.
“Channing you know good and well I’m talking about our dating not about us knowing each other. We just started this yesterday. That’s very new.” Why is he being so persistent about me staying here?
“Well none of that matters to me. Our acquaintanceship is long enough, there’s no need to take things slower, besides staying together will be fun.”

“Okay I won’t but still I need to get going. Today is the last day I have to pay my rent and after that I have to make groceries.” He frowns and hung his head looking like a disgruntled child.
“Can I at least drive you?” Smiling I shake my head no.
“I drove here remember. If I’d taken a cab, I would have taken the ride hands down, but I’ll be fine. Please don’t worry about me, I’ll call you tonight okay?” He looked away pouting and that act alone had me wanting to stay. Too cute. After I get the rest of my things together and he hands me my keys, I stop as I head to the door when I feel his eyes burning into the back of my neck. Giving him one more kiss on the cheek I go to leave and only get as far as my car when he comes out grinning. “What’s got you so happy?” He came up on me kissing my neck.
