He's Coming in Hot (Salacious Summer Singe #6) - J. D. Light Page 0,10
all on its own, but he actually thought of me.
"Hey, look what I found!" Lawton said excitedly, slamming open the door and poking his head in the door to my classroom during my plan period, making my heart race from both surprise at his sudden entrance and the fact that he was once again stopping in to see me, even though I knew for a fact that there were plenty of people vying for his time.
Hell, just this afternoon, when I'd ventured down to the breakroom to grab the lunch I'd made us, since I begged him to let me bring lunch for once, he'd found me in there, planning to walk with me back to my room, and about four of our coworkers had barged in instead, filling the room with chatter as they all tried their best to get and hold his attention.
Eventually, he'd thrown his arm around my shoulders and steered me out of there, nodding and smiling until we were out of sight, and then he'd actually picked me up off the ground and sprinted with me down the hallway to my room, shutting the door and falling against it with a sigh and a groan.
I'd been to stunned to do anything but grunt as he lowered me to the ground with an apology, and there might have been some discrete untucking of my shirt as I made my way to my desk with our lunch and tingles still dancing on my skin where his fingers had seared me through my clothes.
I blinked, glancing up at the clock and then back at him and the bottle he had in his hand as I climbed to my feet, my belly swooping happily. I was pretty sure he was supposed to be in the middle of a Phys Ed class right then, but he'd brought me a bottle of chocolate milk.
He was hanging around the jam in a way that emphasized his boyish, happy nature, making it impossible not to smile at the man, and I let some of the giddiness of the moment wash over me.
"Thank you," I said, chuckling softly. "Don't you have a class, right now?"
I knew his planning period was actually not for another thirty minutes, because for the past two days, he'd been coming into my classroom and sitting in the empty chair next to mine at the table I used for demonstrations like my very own lab partner.
Other people were starting to notice the attention too, and like Maddox, and even his boyfriend, Cashin, they'd all started to say things that were so absurd it was comical, even as it also worked to get my hopes up.
He smirked, wagging his eyebrows. "They're paired off, taking tuns running and recording heart rates."
He was wearing a tight, athletic shirt and thin shorts, and I tried not to stare at things, even though it was really tempting to see if I could make out shapes.
"What are you doing tonight? I bought some Legos, and I wanted to see if you'd like to help me build something. I'll make dinner."
"Legos? Really?" I squeaked, probably looking like my head was seconds from exploding. Could this man get any more perfect?
"Yeah, they looked fun. Though, I hope you're a Marvel man, because I found Avengers." He rubbed his hands together gleefully, and I just barely stopped myself from launching at him like a lunatic.
"I love Marvel," I whispered instead, clearing my throat.
I gasped, instinctively wrapping my arms around his shoulders when he scooped me up in a giant hug, my legs dangling off the ground. The hug was hard and warm, and I whined when he lowered me to the floor and released me before I even had enough time to process what the hell had just happened.
Though, honestly, that was probably for the best. There was no way my body would have behaved had it had time to realize it was pressed against Lawton's. Things would have gotten pretty awkward for his belly button, and I wouldn't be in any condition to teach the class that would soon be coming in.
As it was, I was going to immediately put on my lab coat as soon as the door shut behind the man.
"Okay," he said brightly, reaching out to push my glasses back up on my nose, letting his thumb linger for a moment on my cheek. "I'll be home around five. You can come by anytime."
I nodded, swallowing hard and stupidly reaching up to touch the stinging
