I was the for-now boyfriend before he moved on to something better.”
“Better?” Derek spluttered. “He had a screw loose.”
Sam laughed. “Thank you for that. Maybe not better. But certainly someone richer and who could provide contacts that would further his work. I just couldn’t be around all the old places we’d once been to without remembering what a schmuck I’d been.”
“I’m glad you moved to Dulibre,” Derek said. “I’m glad he broke up with you. I’m glad you tried to stop a robbery. I’m glad that your moped got stolen. Because all of that led you to coming home with me.”
“I’m glad, too,” Sam said, placing his hand on Derek’s thigh. “And it was a motorbike, not a moped.”

Chapter Ten
DEREK HAD ONE OF THE best days of his life. They checked out the coastline and all the views and even found a steep path down to a beach that wasn’t too crowded. The only people down there wanted to get away from others, too. There were some nude sunbathers and a couple canoodling in a beach tent. No one paid much attention to a large man who was by himself at times, and with a smaller guy at other times.
They bought burgers from a roadside joint and consumed them in the car, overlooking some wonderful scenery. They parked and walked a narrow track up to a lookout spot to get a view of the ocean. They bought fruit from a small roadside seller and munched while they drove and talked. Sam stopped and persuaded Derek to come with him to check out an historical church. They examined a war memorial they found overlooking the ocean that listed names of the deceased. They parked the car and wandered through a vineyard before Sam went and purchased a box of wine from the owner. They posed for selfies on ancient bridges and kissed in deserted ruins.
Then they headed for home. Sam stopped and grabbed some dinner on the outskirts of Dulibre and they ate with plastic forks, Derek feeding Sam while he drove. Finally they were back at his apartment and Derek reheated the food in the microwave for Sam to finish while he cooked a recipe his mother had taught him.
“English dumplings in a caramel syrup,” he said happily. “Best consumed hot with ice cream.”
After eating the dessert and cleaning up the kitchen, Derek led Sam to the lounge. “You’ve been driving all day. I bet you’re stiff. How about a massage?”
Sam growled in his throat. “Hell, yes, I’m stiff.”
He pulled Derek into his arms and directed Derek’s hand down to his erection. Derek gleefully massaged as Sam directed him. Of course Sam insisted that Derek also deserved a massage. Clothing was not required.
Ten o’clock found them naked, stretched out on Derek’s couch, and well satiated. Derek pulled the blanket from the back of the couch over the two of them. Sam purred comfortably and caressed Derek’s shoulder.
“You did that deliberately,” he said softly.
Unsure what he meant, Derek looked up. “Did what? Made you come? Well, yes. Isn’t that the aim?”
Sam chuckled. “Yes. And it was a very nice coming, too. And your coming was tasty, I thank you for that. But I didn’t mean that. I meant I told you I was leaving at eight, and you distracted me.”
“I distracted you?” Derek scoffed. “What do I have, a superpowered dick or something?”
“Yes.” While Derek choked on that knowledge, Sam gathered him in. “You distracted me by being you. And I love it. But I’m going to feel rotten if I find out on Monday that the gang hit while I was teaching you all about how to come nicely in my mouth.”
Despite how languid he’d been three minutes before, Derek felt a stir of desire again. He pushed it down. He was just horny as his dad had said. There was no need to bother Sam and demand more. “I thank you greatly for the lesson and look forward to practicing again before the test, Professor Jeffries.” He grinned as he felt Sam’s silent laughter under him. “And thank you also for the idea of using my magic dick to distract you, but you give me too much credit. I wasn’t thinking about distracting you at all. I was thinking of worshipping you and getting your rocks off.”
They lay in silence and Derek thought that perhaps Sam was drifting off to sleep when he suddenly said, “Derek?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you mind if I stay over tonight?”
“It’s only what I’ve been begging you
