chunk of gristly muscle with your head so far up your ass your brains are located in your dick.”
Saul gave a weak chuckle. Jasper stepped a few feet to his right, so he could keep an eye on both Lon and Saul. Saul had hauled himself up to a sitting position and was applying pressure to his upper arm. Jasper had to admire his determination, but he would deal with him later. Right now, he needed to deal with Lon, and the easiest way to deal with Lon was to let Lon deal with himself.
“How much time has Jack Henry had to tell you he wants you?” Jasper taunted. “He doesn’t want you. He never has, and he never will.”
Lon turned his head to the side and spat. “Who’s asking him?”
“I guess when you’re not alpha enough to make an omega want you, you have to resort to rape.”
“Plenty of omegas want me.”
“Then go chase after one of them.”
“Jack Henry’s the best, and I deserve the best.”
Jasper could only laugh at that. Loudly and continually. Saul joined in—more weakly, but audibly—while Lon got angrier and angrier.
“Shut up.”
Jasper didn’t shut up.
“I said shut up.” Lon charged, his caution lost to his temper. An outside observer might’ve imagined Jasper wasn’t prepared—that he was too busy laughing to fight—but this was exactly the response he’d been trying to provoke. He stepped to his side as Lon came at him and caught Lon across the throat with the claws of his right hand. Lon’s momentum did the rest. Five sharp points carved gashes into the skin of Lon’s neck. Blood spurted from them as Lon dropped, his momentum disappearing like air rushing out of an untied balloon.
Saul rose to his feet and staggered closer. Jasper held up a hand to arrest him. He didn’t want to kill Saul, but he hadn’t come this far to give Jack Henry away either.
“I’m not challenging you,” Saul said. “I’m trying to help Lon. He’s going to die.”
Jasper tried really hard to care if Lon died.
“The fence is right there,” Saul pleaded. “Help me throw Lon over it so someone can come get him. I can’t lift him alone.”
Jasper doubted Saul could lift much of anything right now, but he agreed to carry his half of the load and found he didn’t need to carry any more than that. Saul was a big dude with a surprising reservoir of strength. Together they pitched Lon over the fence. Then Saul yelled until they attracted attention from the dance studio on the other side. The two of them watched Lon get carried away before turning to each other.
“I’ll fight you if I have to,” Jasper said, “but I’d rather not.”
Saul pulled himself up taller. “I don’t like fighting, and you can probably beat me easily enough, but I’ll fight whoever I have to in order to make sure Jack Henry gets a say in who claims him.”
Saul was a good man. Jasper gave him a friendly clap on the shoulder. He even tucked away his claws before he did it. “I already promised Elias that if Jack Henry doesn’t want me, I’ll walk away.”
“He’ll want you,” Saul said, his face a mix of regret and relief. “You saved him from Lon, and you’re…” He made a gesture that reminded Jasper he might like an alpha of his own. “You’re incredible,” he finished with a sigh.
“You’re a hell of a package too, big guy. Way to keep fighting.” He chucked Saul under the chin. “Now, I’ve got an omega to claim. But hang around a minute, just in case.”
JACK HENRY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The battle sounds stopped, giving Jack Henry back some clarity. He couldn’t think with all that going on below him. He was a non-violent person normally, but the flush of heat coursing through him called for blood, and the alpha pheromones wafting up to him ratcheted his fever higher. He didn’t want to be fought over. And yet, he did.
Elias’s cock was hard between his buttocks. It called to him, so that he was torn between saving himself for the victor below—for the alpha who’d earned him—and giving himself to the one he’d known longest and best, the one who already had hold of him. Elias held him as firmly as he needed to be held, keeping him safe even as he leaned over the edge of the platform to see who’d won.
“Is it Lon?” Elias asked.
Jack Henry backed away from the edge to press himself against the firmness of Elias’s cock,
