Heartless (Lonely Souls #2) - Autumn Reed Page 0,34

“Right now, I can’t decide if I’m more excited about sinking inside of you or licking that delicious pussy.”

“Leo,” I breathed. Every cell in my body ached for him, and his words were only making me more desperate. I began moving against him again. “Please.”

He wound my hair around his fist, tugging just enough for a sliver of pain to shoot through me, and I moaned. “You’re so fucking sexy like this. You should be turned on all the time.”

“Leo.” I sounded like I was begging now, but I didn’t even care.

“It’s okay, beautiful,” he said against my neck. “I’ve got you.”

He slid a finger inside of me again, instantly finding the perfect rhythm to hurtle me straight into ecstasy. I’d been so ready for release, but now that my body—and Leo’s magical caresses—were pushing me there, I wanted to draw this out.

I clung to his shoulders and bucked my hips, needing to experience every sensation imaginable. Leo bit down on my breast, and that was the last straw. I came so hard and fast, nothing could have kept me silent in that moment. I cried out, my body tensing then dissolving into water as I sank into his chest. Or maybe air, because I could have sworn I was weightless.

“Fuck, Thea.” Leo tightened his arms around me and kissed the side of my neck. “That was so hot.”

My breaths were coming out in short gasps, and before I had a chance to reply, his alarm went off. I glanced at the clock. It was too early.

He gently rolled me off of him and moved to the side of the bed to grab his phone.

Finally able to speak, I asked, “Is this what time you get up every morning?”

“Five days a week. Weight training and then a team meeting before class.”

Damn. I’d known he was always gone before me in the mornings, but I hadn’t realized he left this early.

Leo reached for the covers, which had slipped to the end of the bed during our...activities. He pulled them up and over my mostly naked body. “Stay here until you have to get up?” He pressed a soft but lingering kiss to my lips. “I like the idea of you in my bed, even when I’m not here.”

I nodded, not having the energy or inclination to deny him. “What about you?” I glanced down to where he was clearly still rocking a hard-on.

“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of that in the shower.” He winked. “And, just so there’s no doubt, I’ll be thinking about you.”

I laughed even as I snuggled even deeper under the covers. Though I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to him, my body was more than ready to fall back asleep. “Good to know.”

Closing my eyes, I heard him move quietly about the room, collecting his things for the day. I’d almost drifted off when I felt the bed shift beneath to me.

Leo stroked my cheek with his thumb. “Can I ask you something?”

“Mm-hmm,” I murmured without opening my eyes.

“Will you be my girlfriend?”

My heart fluttered, and I smiled. “Yes, Leo. I’ll be your girlfriend.”

Chapter Fifteen

Thea

Almost two hours later, I made my way into the kitchen for breakfast. A female voice that wasn’t Susan’s drifted to me, so I paused on this side of the doorway and listened.

“I’ll never be as good a cook as you, Susan. These pancakes are heavenly.” Unless I was mistaken, that was Lily, Hayle’s mother.

“I’ve had enough of your brownies to know you’re quite adept in the kitchen yourself.” Susan chuckled. “Besides, cooking has been my job for almost a lifetime. If I wasn’t any good at it, I would have been sacked long ago.”

“True. Vincent isn’t one to allow incompetence.”

There was a lull in conversation while the women ate, the sound of forks scraping on plates replacing the chit-chat. Eventually, Susan said, “You must be so relieved that Hayle was officially cleared in the Bodie Jacobs case last week.”

“Oh, yes, he did mention something about that but didn’t go into detail.” Lily laughed lightly. “He isn’t one to be overly talkative, as you well know.”

I could hear the smile in Susan’s voice when she replied, “I’ve always liked that about your son. I know when he talks, it’s because he has something to say.”

“I’ve never thought about it that way, but you’re right.” After a few more seconds likely filled with eating, she asked, “Do you know what happened with the case? Did they catch the person who removed the lug nuts
