Heartless Hunk - Ann Omasta Page 0,4
as an insult. ‘Unexpected’ wasn’t exactly a glowing compliment.
One would never guess how important this introduction was to me because I didn’t think I could mess it up any worse if my mother’s life depended on it.
After shaking my head in an attempt to reset my brain, I said, “Sorry. I meant to say your voice is sexy. It’s sexy as fuck.”
Her eyes widened in surprise at my usage of the f-word within moments of meeting her. Just when I was trying to convince myself that it was time to give up and slink away, she surprised me by tipping her head back and laughing.
I had thought her voice was hot, but it paled in comparison to her uninhibited laugh. The joyous sound went straight to my groin. I had to lean up to adjust my jeans to avoid offending her in a worse way than I likely already had.
When her laughter finally subsided, she hinted, “Well, I guess I chose the right profession then.”
I raised one brow in her direction, wondering what profession she had selected. The best job I could think of for a voice like that was a phone-sex operator, but imagining her sexy voice helping horny men get off did nothing to curb the surge of blood barreling towards my crotch.
When she didn’t answer, I tried, but failed, to keep the croakiness out of my voice when I asked, “What profession is that?”
“Radio,” she said simply, and I knew immediately what my hand and cock would be doing the next time she was on the air.

Violet
Soraya leaned in as if she was revealing a big secret to Oliver. “Violet is the host of the hit radio show, Vi’s Eagle Eye.”
The blank stare Oliver gave her let us know that he had never heard of it. I wasn’t surprised, since he didn’t seem like the show’s target demographic. Soraya, however, seemed stunned.
“Come on… She is the life hacks, practical advice, and health tips queen. Everyone listens to her show.” Soraya bugged out her already-large eyes in his direction as if her prompting would somehow convince him that he knew who I was.
He shrugged, clearly never having heard of me or the show.
Soraya sat back in her seat. “You two are unbelievable. You are two of the most famous people in Manhattan, yet you have both managed to somehow avoid the hype about one another.”
“I’m thrilled to meet someone who doesn’t have any preconceived ill notions about me.” Oliver admitted, looking surprisingly sheepish.
“Oh, Soraya and the short, blonde lady told me all I need to know about you,” I informed him, only half-joking.
“I was afraid of that.” Oliver’s eyes were downcast as he mumbled the words. He seemed much humbler and more self-effacing than I would have expected, since he was widely-known as a womanizer.
Soraya was giving him her narrow-eyed assessing gaze. I could tell she was weighing what she had heard about his reputation against the man himself. Evidently deciding to give him the benefit of the doubt, she said to him, “I was impressed by your quick, heroic reaction when Violet stumbled over there. Instantaneous chivalry is not something you can fake.”
Although I wasn’t particularly thrilled that my friend was reminding him about my awkward almost-fall, I appreciated her sentiment. Soraya had my back and truly wanted what was best for me.
“I would never let her fall,” he said quietly, sounding sincere.
His immediate response made it seem like he cared for me, even though we had just met. It didn’t make any sense, but it still made my heart swell in my chest.
Seeming to make a snap decision, as was typical for her, Soraya leaned toward the two of us to say, “I think I know of a way that you two might be able to help each other out.”
It was starting to sound like she was brewing up some type of outlandish scheme, so I shook my head vehemently to try to stop her. My gesture to be cautious was about as helpful as a yield sign would be against a freight train barreling out-of-control down the railroad tracks.
Pointing a finger at Oliver, she said, “You need to get out of the city. You’re too well-known and disliked here. You need a break someplace where they don’t really watch reality television and don’t care that you were the first hunk in the history of Hot Hunks to sleep with every finalist on the show and then proceed to dump them all.”
I bugged my eyes out
