exit.
Dread rained down in me like acid.
“Fuckers!” I shouted, and I threw my hands up.
Two columns of the Flame of the Rainbows shot toward Ares and Lucifer, one to each. A golden shield appeared in Ares’s hand, and he raised it to block my flame. My twelve twists of fire sizzled against his shield but couldn’t get past it to reach its bearer.
“I commissioned my ex-lover’s husband to make this shield. It repels any kind of fire from a Titan,” Ares gloated.
Hephaestus, God of Metalworking, could forge any immortal weapon or shield.
Twin fires, black and red, rose before Lucifer, forming a shield around him. They were his signature hellfire, the same as mine, but way more powerful. My hellfire had one color, but he had developed two tones with extra power. Plus, he could draw magic from Hell.
My Flame of Rainbows crashed into his hellfire and fizzled out.
At this point, I realized that only Living Flame could match the combined power of the god and the devil, but I was stuck in here where I couldn’t get to Paxton, mate him, and activate my true flame.
I had only myself to blame. I should have just gotten over my grudge and fucked him when I had the chance. But my petty self still wanted to make the Demigod of Sea work harder before I let him get what he wanted so badly.
However, even without the Living Flame, my power wasn’t weak.
At my assault, both the god and the devil staggered back from the impact of my magic, surprise flitting through their eyes.
I called my hellfire. If I could add it to my rainbow flames and vanquish Ares first, I’d have a fighting chance going one-on-one against the devil.
My hellfire rose, coursing in my veins, but it wouldn’t come out to fight Lucifer.
“Coward!” I yelled at it, but still, it didn’t respond as it regarded the devil as its fucking family.
“Ares, you’re right,” Lucifer said. “If my stepdaughter comes into her full power, we might not subdue her.”
“So we need to bring her to your realm to remold her,” Ares said, “until she becomes ours—and finally mine, as we agreed upon. In the meantime, I’ll get rid of the demigods so no one will stand in our way.”
Icy fear filled my every fiber.
Septum, I called to the elemental. Help me fight them. Get me out of here, and I’ll come back for you.
It’s too late now, child, whispered the elemental in grief. You’ll have to go to Hell.
A shockwave slammed into my chest as both Lucifer and Ares tossed their power at me. I staggered back and pushed my fires toward them, but their combined energy beams intercepted my fires and cooped them up. Then their energy beams started to devour my flames, harvesting my strength and my power.
The god and the devil then pinned me down with their formidable, supreme magic, immobilizing a daughter of a Titan.
CHAPTER 19

“Release her!” The demigods’ roars echoed through Ever realm.
I trained my eyes to the opening of the portal as I struggled like a fly in the thick spiderweb woven by the god and the devil. Icy rage filled me, yet I couldn’t break free.
All the demigods had materialized outside the ancient tree, their faces twisting into masks of wrath and their fear for me beating in their veins—so tangible and potent it ripped the air apart.
As one, they raised their hands, and their combined powers crashed into the orb that blocked the doorway. The orb reshaped and reformed to absorb the demigods’ blasts and held in place.
Héctor bellowed in rage and rammed into the barrier, his death light crashing into the orb with a sizzling sound, but the shield magic from our enemies sent him flying backward. If he’d been a mortal, he’d have died just from touching the orb.
“Héctor!” I screamed his name. “Don’t touch it! Preserve yourself.”
Next, Paxton slammed into the orb in a black rage. Its dark magic burned him, yet he rammed into the orb again and again like a stubborn bull.
“No, Paxton!” I cried out just as Axel threw himself at the barrier, along with his wind power. “Axel, stop! It won’t work!”
It repelled the Demigod of War as well.
“Let her go!” Axel thundered. “I’ll tear you apart!”
“That’s your son, isn’t it?” Lucifer asked with mild interest.
Both Lucifer and Ares still pinned me down with their swirling beams. The devil’s posture didn’t relax, his hand in the air, palm toward me as his energy kept lashing at me.
