A Guy for Christmas - K.C. Wells Page 0,34

his wide armchair, Lady in his lap, Loki curled up next to her. There appeared to have been a ceasefire, because Lady hadn’t hissed at Loki’s presumption to share Dean’s lap. He stroked them both, barely registering the music playing in the background.

His mind was on Robin.

Dean stared at the couch where only a short time ago, he’d brought Robin to a shuddering orgasm. He hadn’t lied. Watching Robin come had been… exhilarating? Sexy as fuck? Not to mention the hottest thing he’d witnessed in a long while. And once Dean had finally put aside his doubts and fears, and let himself go, Robin’s kisses ignited a fire inside him that was still smoldering an hour after he’d gone home.

It was only after Robin had gotten onto his bike and pedaled down the street that Dean had realized the drapes on his front window had been open the entire time.

Wonder if my neighbors caught the show?

It was a mistake he didn’t intend to make again. Because Dean was certain there would be a next time, so certain that he’d made a note to go to the drugstore on the way home from school. His supplies were running low, and he had a feeling he was going to need a lot of condoms.

What was I like at his age? Dean smiled to himself. Perpetually horny would have been an apt description. Christ, the wind could change direction and he’d be hard. He doubted Robin would be any different. He has so much to discover.

Dean intended to make sure Robin got a better start to his voyage of discovery than Dean had gotten.

His phone buzzed, and he wondered briefly if it was Robin. The thought of talking to him before he went to bed was a pleasant one. Dean glanced at the screen and smiled as he clicked Answer.

“Hey. How are rehearsals going? Ready for opening night? It’s two weeks this Saturday, right?”

Adrian groaned. “Don’t remind me. There are days when it feels like we’ll never be ready. And opening night is what I wanted to discuss. Do you still want to come?”

“Try and keep me away,” Dean told him earnestly.

“Oh, great. At least I’ll have one friendly face in the audience.”

Dean chuckled. “Ade, it will be amazing, and you know it.” Adrian was always like this before a new production.

“I’ll send you a ticket. Or do I make that two?”

“That’s your oh-so-unsubtle way of inquiring whether I’m dating anyone, isn’t it?”

Adrian laughed. “Okay, you got me. Well?”

Dean hesitated. “I’ll need two tickets, but before you start hearing wedding bells—and don’t deny it, because that’s what you did every single time I dated anyone in Chicago—it’s sort of… complicated.”

“Ooh, now I’m intrigued. Tell me more.”

“He’s not exactly my date.”

“This gets better and better. So what is he then?”

“He’s more like the eighteen-year-old ex-student whose dad is making me a new canoe.”

A pause. “Keep going, because I know there’s more to come. I can hear it in your voice.”

“Only if you promise to listen without comment till I’m finished.”

“You got it.”

Dean told him everything, and true to his word, Adrian listened without a single interruption. When he was through, Dean fell silent.

“Wow.”

“That’s all I get?” Dean demanded incredulously. “Wow?”

“No, seriously, I’m impressed.” Adrian chuckled. “By your stamina, if nothing else. Because to keep up with the potential sexual Olympics that will undoubtedly be a major factor in a relationship with an eighteen-year-old…”

Dean snorted. “You make it sound like we’re going to be fucking every hour on the hour.”

“No, it will only feel that way,” Adrian quipped. “But hey, go for it.” Another pause. “Please, tell me he’s not some pimple-covered kid with a huge dick and no brain.”

Dean let out a mock gasp. “Ouch. That’s harsh. And here was I thinking you were my friend.”

“I am!” Adrian protested. “And I’m teasing. So what is he like?”

“Oh, Ade. He’s beautiful. He’s smart. He’s funny. He’s talented.” And Dean wanted to know more of him.

“But he’s got a tiny dick. I’m reading between the lines here because you left that part out.”

Dean laughed. “Sorry to disappoint you, but no. He’s got a gorgeous dick.”

“And I get to meet him, right? Because you’re going to bring him to the party after the show, aren’t you?” It might have sounded like a question, but Dean knew better.

It was a summons.

“Okay, I’ll bring him. I’ll make sure he doesn’t drink.” The last thing Dean wanted was Adrian getting in trouble with the cops. “And if you say the
