That Girl is Poison - Milly Taiden Page 0,54
said. “These people deserve to know what that son of a bitch did to them. It will also help their packs medical teams understand what is going on with them.”
“And the fire?” Xeon asked then cocked one of his eyebrows.
“I wanted to destroy every bit of his work. No one should be able to duplicate that dangerous serum. I’ll keep an eye on Channing to make sure he stays on the straight and narrow.” She pulled the folders close to her chest and crossed her arms.
“I don’t think you will have any trouble out of him. Are you ready to go home?” Xeon wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
“I’m more than ready.” She nodded.
“The others are waiting for their rides by the SUV,” Kyro informed them.
“Thank you for finding us.” Mara looked back and forth between them. “I don’t know what I would have done without you.”
“You say that, but it looked like you had everything covered just fine,” Xeon admitted with a smile. He loved a strong woman that could take care of herself.
“I’m ready to go home. Your nice soft bed is calling my name.” Mara gave them each a kiss on the cheek.
There had been nothing he wanted more than to get Mara in his bed again. If Kyro could be nice, he may even let him stay too. Mara sleeping between them would fulfill him.
Chapter Seventeen
On the walk to the SUV, Mara’s demonic side settled. The demonic tendrils unraveled from her body. Her anger lightened the more the blackness absorbed into her. Xeon and Kyro stopped her and looked her over, taking in every inch of her naked body.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Xeon asked her.
“I’m fine. Still on a little blood high.” She giggled then continued on the walk to the SUV. Kyro pulled his shirt off and slipped it over her head. Xeon held the patient files while she put her arms in the sleeves.
“How did you come about drinking from my sister?” Xeon asked her.
“Yeah, sorry about that. In my defense, Trina did insist on it. I wasn’t strong enough to get out. My vampire needed blood. I told Trina what they were saying in my head. If there had been even the slightest chance that we could have escaped, then we were going to take it,” Mara explained.
“I’m just glad you’re safe.” Xeon took her hand in his.
“You’re glad I didn’t drain her dry.” She grinned at him.
“Well, that too,” he admitted, smiling down at her.
“Yeah, that would put a damper on the holidays.” Kyro wrapped his hand around her free one.
Mara looked back and forth between the two. This was the way it should be. The three of them together. Maybe she could get both in bed at the same time. Images of them pleasuring her passed through her mind.
When they stepped out of the woods, vehicles were pulling into the parking lot of an old gas station. Many of the shifters were still in animal form. The shifters knew who they needed to go with. A man in a hospital gown led a black bear to a truck. The bear climbed into the bed and lay down. The white wolf jumped in the back seat of a car Kyro pointed out as the tiger pack leader. A convertible pulled up next to the vampire, who was still drinking from a bag of blood. The pale driver waved to Xeon before pulling away. The only one left was the gorilla.
“I’d like to take Desmond with me. I’ll help him get back to his old life.” Channing came up to them.
“Desmond?” Mara cocked her head to the side.
“The gorilla shifter,” Channing nodded his head in the gorilla’s direction. “He’s an original. Luckily, his body rejected Dr. Phenix’s attempts to change him. His DNA is the one that changed me.”
Xeon thought about it for a moment.
“Give me your phone number and address. I want to check in with him later,” Xeon finally said.
Channing looked at Mara and quickly agreed. He got Xeon’s number and texted him all the information. Finishing, Channing walked over to the gorilla. He knelt in front of him and appeared to be talking. Channing stood, and the gorilla willingly followed behind him.
“At least he went on his own accord this time.”
“Why did you spare Channing?” Kyro asked, leading her to the SUV.
“He used to be like us. He just found a way to cope better and used it to his advantage. I imagine after months of being locked up,
