Four Letter Word (Love Logic #2) - K.M. Neuhold Page 0,87

me he’s getting dressed. “Do me a favor and distract him while I cook.”

Riot gives him a salute. “You got it. Are you making dessert too?” he asks hopefully.

Leo rolls his eyes and gives him an indulgent smile. “Maybe.”

He groans happily, letting me go and reaching for Leo to give him a kiss as well. I never would’ve guessed how happy it would make me to see Riot’s hand on the back of Leo’s neck as they share a sweet kiss, but my stomach flutters and flips and all the sappy, squishy feelings inside me swell.

Riot releases him after a minute or two, and we flop down on the couch while Leo heads into the kitchen.

“I missed you. How was your trip with Hudson?” I ask, sitting sideways with my back against the armrest, my legs slung over Riot’s. He slouches down and rests his large hands on my legs.

“It was great,” he answers, the dreamy smile on his face making my whole body do the fluttery, happy thing again.

“Did you guys have sex?” I ask, dropping my voice and licking my lips as filthy images fill my mind.

“We’re on the same page about pursuing a romantic connection, but that’s all I feel comfortable telling you without Hudson’s consent,” he answers, and somehow I like that answer even more than one full of tantalizing details, because this answer shows how much he respects and cares about Hudson.

Leo comes back out of the kitchen, stripping his shirt over his head as he walks right past us. Riot wolf whistles, and Leo and I both laugh.

“Hush. I got steak juice on myself, so I have to change,” he explains.

“You don’t hear either of us complaining,” I say, eyeing him appreciatively as he grabs a fresh shirt out of the pile of clean clothes beside the couch.

“Aren’t you getting sick of sleeping on a couch?” Riot asks, eyeing Leo’s disarray of things strewn around the living room.

I tense, and Leo shrugs before pulling a shirt over his head. “I’ve been too busy to look for a place.”

“I love apartment hunting,” he says. “You want company? I’ll do the research, find some good places for you to check out, make appointments for viewings, and even go see them with you. What do you say?”

My stomach clenches, and I bite my tongue. I know it’s not fair to want to keep Leo here on my couch, but the thought of him moving out makes me all itchy. But I still haven’t reconciled what it would mean to officially ask him to live together now that we’re dating. I just need a little more time, and Riot helping him find an apartment doesn’t play into that timeline I was counting on.

“Um…” Leo hesitates, using his foot to keep his pile of clothes in a neat grouping. “I guess that would be cool.”

“Great. We can talk about your budget and everything and then you can leave the rest to me.”

“Awesome.”

Is it projection or does Leo sound just as unhappy about the idea as I feel?

Before I can spend too much time dwelling on it, there’s another knock at the door, and I get up to let Hudson in.

Hudson

My body dances with nerves the entire drive over to Bishop’s place. Not only do I have no idea how it’s going to be with Leo tonight, but this will be the first time the four of us have really hung out together, and I don’t have the first clue how I’m supposed to act. How will I feel if Bishop and Leo decide to fool around? Am I allowed to touch and kiss Bishop and Riot? Or are we all supposed to act like friends in front of each other to keep anyone from feeling jealous?

I don’t feel any calmer as I stand in the hallway, waiting for Bishop to answer the door. When he finally opens it, he’s only dressed in a pair of low slung pajama pants, clearly without underwear if the outline of his dick is any indication.

“Damn, now that’s a welcome sight,” I tease, stepping inside and grabbing him for a kiss. His lips are soft and pliant under mine, just like they always are. It’s a stark contrast to the rough way Riot kissed me back over the weekend. It would be impossible to say which I like better because each fits the man attached to the kiss.

“God, I’ve missed the hell out of you this week,” I murmur against his lips.

“Missed you too,”
