much, but Leo and Bishop have implied that Hudson’s pretty well off. I can’t imagine funding it is an issue.
“I can’t let my dad down. He expects me to run Bellows’ Financial one day. Plus, I don’t know the first thing about opening a comic book shop.”
“You can’t live your life worrying about what everyone else wants you to do,” I advise. “For what it’s worth, I think you’d be awesome at running a comic book store. In fact, I know you probably don’t need it, but if you decide to do this, I’d love to invest in it if that’s something you’d want.”
“You mean that?”
“I really do.”

I feel an odd sort of buoyancy after telling Riot about my silly dream of owning a comic book store. It’s something I’ve thought of on and off for years. Using the fantasy of it to get me through times when everything felt like it was weighing me down. But I’ve never spoken it out loud to anyone before. And Riot didn’t think it was silly at all, which makes it feel like maybe it could be real someday.
“Where are we?” I ask as Riot pulls into a dirt parking lot.
“I thought a short hike would be nice. There’s supposed to be an incredible view from the top,” he explains. “You up for it?”
“Hell yeah, let’s do it.”
It’s hot as hell out, but there’s just enough cloud cover to make it bearable. There’s something peaceful about the quiet of nature. The crunch of twigs and dirt under our shoes, and the cheerful bird songs, the only sound filling the woods as we walk. Sweat beads on the back of my neck as we follow the gradual incline. The view of Riot’s ass in front of my face, flexing with each step, is more than enough to make the hike worth it.
“Sometimes, when I’m having writer’s block, a hike is just the thing to cure me.”
“I can see that.” I nod thoughtfully. “Being out in nature gives your mind time to relax and work a little better.”
“Exactly,” he agrees, stopping and pulling up his shirt to mop some of the sweat off of his face. The skin he exposes makes my body heat up another few degrees, my cock taking interest. I’d been hoping we would have more time to fool around this weekend, but the con wore him out too much. How would he feel if I pushed him against a tree right now and made him come with my hand?
My cock hardens, my heart beating faster at the fantasy.
Before I can act on it, he drops his shirt back into place and keeps walking. By the time we reach the top, my legs are aching, and I’m drenched with sweat, but I’ll admit, the view is as good as he said it would be.
We stand for a few minutes, looking out over the valley below, quietly appreciating its beauty before turning to make the trek back down.
When we emerge from the trees, the sky overhead is dark gray, all traces of the sun gone. I stop in my tracks, turning my face toward the sky, a cool breeze kicking up and licking at the sweat clinging to my skin.
“It looks like rain.” The words have barely left me lips before the first fat raindrop splatters against my cheek. It’s a cold shock to my system, startling a laugh from me.
“Oh shit,” Riot chuckles, looking up at the sky as well and catching a droplet on his mouth. He sputters and wipes the back of his hand against his lips, tilting his head to look at me. There’s water still clinging to his lips, curved in a grin, his eyes dancing with humor and light. “We’d better—” Whatever his suggestion was going to be is cut off by the clouds opening unexpectedly, sheets of rain falling all around us, soaking us to the bone in seconds.
“Come on,” I call over the roar of water, grabbing his hand and taking off toward the car. The only sound I can hear over the rain falling hard and loud against the ground is Riot’s laughter as he sprints to keep up, his hand slick in mine, his fingers curled tightly around mine.
Riot reaches into his pocket with his free hand, hitting the button to unlock the car doors as soon as we’re close enough. Wrenching open the door to the backseat, I dive inside, and Riot is right behind me, pulling the door closed behind him
