only takes about half an hour to get the store in order.

“I’m feeling way too hyped up to go home,” Hudson says as he locks up. “Why don’t we go for a drink to celebrate?”

“Why don’t we see if everyone else wants to meet us?” Bishop suggests. Their friends all came by during the grand opening, and Alex even bought a stack of graphic novels, making the suggestion that Hudson stock some adult options as well.

“I’ll send out a group text,” Hudson agrees, pulling out his phone and firing off the invite.

By the time we get to Twisted Cherry, the rest of the group is already waiting for us, a round of drinks sitting on the table in preparation of our arrival.

“Congratulations,” they cheer in chorus, making Hudson blush as he reaches for a glass of beer.

“Your store looks amazing. I’m going to talk it up to everyone. I know a bunch of nerds who will love to have somewhere to hang out and do some tabletop gaming,” Alex says.

“Hey, you told me you didn’t know any nerds,” Seph pouts.

“Gay nerds,” he clarifies.

“Damn,” she mutters.

“It really did look great,” Pax agrees. “I’m really proud of you for building a store from scratch like that.”

“Aw shucks,” Hudson jokes. “I couldn’t have done it alone. These guys deserve just as much credit as I do.”

“Nope, you’re not getting out of this showering of praise,” I insist, wrapping an arm around Hudson and kissing him. “We’re all proud of you, and you’re just going to have to take it.”

“In that case, I’m going to need a lot more drinks.”

“How’s the roommate situation going?” Bishop asks Alex and Theo. They share a look, Theo’s cheeks going pink before they look away from each other. My relationship radar pings, and I hide a grin behind a sip of beer.

Love is the best.

We drink until last call, and then the four of us stumble back to my apartment at the end of the block, leaving our cars to deal with in the morning.

Even though my bed is hardly big enough for the four of us, we all strip down and pile in, a mess of limbs and drunken giggles. I’m not even sure whose lips I find or who grinds their half hard cock against my ass, but we’re all too drunk and tired to do more than grope and whisper to each other for a few minutes before everyone starts to fall asleep.

With three sets of legs wound into a web with mine and three hands resting on various parts of my body, three distinct snores filling my bedroom and three incredible men taking up every inch of my bed and my heart, I can’t imagine anything in the world better than this.

Two Years Later

“I feel ridiculous,” I complain, fiddling with the fake mustache attached to my upper lip.

“Feeling ridiculous is part of the fun,” Riot says, batting my hand away from my fake facial hair. “If you keep messing with it, it’s going to fall off.”

“It feels itchy,” I complain.

“We are so not taking you to Comic Con with us next year,” Hudson declares, shaking his head at me.

“Good, Bishop and I will plan an actual fun vacation instead,” I counter.

“I think this is kind of fun,” Bishop says, emerging from the bedroom in a green onesie that has a Yoshi head on the hood.

“It’s the most fun,” Riot agrees, fluffing up his pink princess dress and doing a little twirl.

“And don’t forget, the winner picks where we go for dinner and the loser pays,” Hudson reminds me of the bet we made, twirling his own fake mustache with his index finger.

“I just don’t understand why I’m stuck being Luigi. Everyone knows he’s the worst,” I complain.

“I think you look sexy,” Bishop assures me, pressing a kiss to my lips and giggling as my fake mustache tickles his nose.

I fling my arm over Bishop’s shoulders and nod to the other two. “All right, Jump Man, Peach, let’s get this show on the road.”

We pile into Riot’s car, Bishop and me in the backseat.

Sometimes it’s hard to believe how much has changed in the past year. We found the perfect house outside the city limits with enough space that we’re not falling over each other all the time, and a big enough bedroom for the Alaskan King bed we sprung for—which is incidentally the biggest bed you can get without needing it to be custom made. We argue, and we love, and we get jealous, and then we love all over again. It’s so far from the life I used to imagine, but it’s so, so much better.

I reach over for Bishop’s hand and lace our fingers together. He looks over and smiles at me in that sweet way that still melts me and probably always will.

We get to the Go Kart track, and I try not to feel too silly climbing out of the car with all of us dressed as Mario characters.

“You’re going down, Griff,” Hudson says, jumping into the nearest Go Kart and shooting me a challenging glare.

“We’ll see about that, Belly.”

“Do you ever get the feeling they don’t even need us here?” Bishop stage whispers to Riot.

“My plan is to let them run each other off the track and claim the win for myself,” he answers with a shrug, climbing into his own kart.

“Want to form an alliance?” Bishop suggests.

“Hey, no alliances! This is war,” Hudson complains.

“You worry about your war; I’m busy thinking about the steak dinner one of you losers is going to have to buy me,” Riot says with a wink.

My mustache falls off halfway through the race, and Hudson does in fact spend more energy trying to run me off the track than actually winning. Bishop comes in first, and I end up in last place.

“Wipe that smug look off your face. Second to last isn’t that much better than last,” I grumble at Hudson.

“Don’t be salty, baby,” he teases, pressing a kiss to my lips as soon as we’re out of our karts. “So, Bish, where are we going for dinner?”

“I say we do a few more laps just for fun and then pick up some Chinese food to take home and eat naked.”

“Naked dinner for the win,” Riot agrees, holding his fists up in the air victoriously.

Yeah, this life definitely isn’t so bad.
