Forbidden Doctor - R. S. Elliot Page 0,70
“after the rainy season, of course, but before it gets too hot to go outside.”
“That’s only a few months away,” I noted with a small level of panic in my voice.
Weddings were a big affair and required so much meticulous planning that I knew I wouldn’t be able to pull it off in a matter of months. He had a very rich, upper class family, and I knew it wouldn’t be seen as acceptable if we just went to a field with a priest and said our vows. I personally thought nothing sounded better than a simple ceremony—it wasn’t the party I cared about, it was the part where I would marry Adrian.
“Stevie,” Adrian said, looking down at where I was laying in his arms, “it doesn’t have to be a big thing, so please don’t think about it too much. I know you’d rather have a small wedding, and whatever you want, I will make work.”
“But your family—”
“Will get over themselves,” he cut me off. “You are my family as well; in many cases, more so, and it’s supposed to be our day, not theirs. All that matters is marrying you.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
It didn’t escape me that once again, he was making everything much more perfect than it had any right to be, that he had never given me reason to doubt him, and in our years together, he had never broken my heart. We’d never had an issue we couldn’t solve. It would all be alright. Everything would be okay. We’d have a small wedding, maybe in the woods behind our house, and then a meal with our family as the reception. I couldn’t think of anything better.
“Our honeymoon, then,” I kept going, “where should that be?”
“Somewhere cold,” Adrian said immediately. “Somewhere we can ski or go sledding or just play in the snow during the day and spend our evenings in front of a fire, just like this.”
“You just want somewhere for us to be in a small cabin with no one but each other for company and no choice but to fuck like rabbits for fun!” I accused, slapping him lightly on the stomach.
“Is there anything wrong with wanting to spend two weeks with my beautiful fiancé, just after she becomes my beautiful wife, honoring her body and holding her close like I promised to do all along?”
I laughed at his cheesy expression but thought about how wonderful that would really be.
“No, you goof, there’s nothing wrong with that.” I smiled happily. “Nothing at all.”

Adam
Gavin had called me the night before and told me that he would need me to send a cab to pick Stella up from the airport this afternoon, because he had gotten a last minute gig and needed time to rehearse his material and do sound checks at the location. He said she knew and was okay with it.
But that felt far too impersonal. I had known Stella her entire life, not to mention that I had just hired her—of course I would go to pick her up from the airport myself if Gavin couldn’t.
I had to admit, I was nervous.
I was second guessing myself and wondering if this would be a disaster the second Stella walked in. The night before, I had sat down with Ava and explained everything to her as best as I could. I told her that Stella was Gavin’s sister, and that perked her up a little bit. That in itself gave me more hope
