dad. Marriage was another thing I didn’t think I would wanna go through, as not even relationships were something I was hoping to be in one day.

“And what if you get pregnant? Would you get an abortion?”

“I think that’s a difficult topic.”

“Why?”

“Because it depends who and where the father would be.”

I nodded but wanted to hear more. “Example?”

While she talked, I caressed her thighs with both hands and kept my eyes on hers closely to not miss one single emotion.

“If the father disappears after he hears the news, I don’t see a point of raising a child on my own. But if the father stays with me and helps me get through it all…I might change my mind about getting an abortion.”

I understood, and before this conversation would turn into a political matter, I leaned in to kiss her cheek gently. “I’m gonna be old in a few years. I’m talking ten, fifteen years. No matter what I say, no matter how often I threaten you to stay with me, I don’t want you to feel responsible for me if you don’t feel like it. You’re going to be in your best years, and if I for some reason start to get health issues, I don’t want you to give up everything just because of me.”

Valley was shaking her head while I spoke, and once I was finished, she placed her hands on my cheeks with a determined look on her face.

“I don’t care what’s coming in fifteen years, Riggs. I love you, and if you’re lucky enough, I’ll still love you in a year.”

I laughed, squeezing her thighs and then moving my hands to her hips.

“I want us to live in the moment and not think about the what ifs. I’m happy, even without camming. And it’s all because of you.”

Neither of us were good with expressing our feelings, but Valley just showed me that it was possible if the words coming out were honest and truthful.

I might not have long enough to see her when she’s thirty or forty, but until then, I would show her that a man, no matter his age, could do just as much as a guy her age.

Lucky me she preferred older guys anyway.

“Okay, you’re right. I’ll try my best not to think about the future.”

That got another smile out of her, and so I leaned in to kiss her, showing her how much love I was carrying around in my heart for her.

There had to be someone knocking at our door as we were about to take each other’s clothes off.

I sighed as Riggs stepped away from me, a frown between his brows.

“Are you expecting someone?” I asked, looking toward the front door.

I hadn’t heard a car pull up, and since the light in the living room was on, it was hard to see who was outside.

“Stay here,” he told me, but since I didn’t listen much, I followed him to the entrance and waited for him to open the door.

A relieved breath left me as I saw Marcus standing there, his eyes immediately moving to mine.

“You’re back,” Riggs stated, partly confused and annoyed at his brother’s return.

“Yeah, wanted to talk to you,” he said, keeping his eyes on mine before he finally tore them off to look at my body.

Marcus looking at me wasn’t as creepy when he did it through the web cam, but watching him staring at me with Riggs standing next to me was a bit weird.

“Something important?”

Marcus nodded, taking a quick look at him before moving his gaze back to me.

“I was just wondering…there was this girl I talked to. Very pretty. She never told me her real name, but she was honest and sweet.”

Shit.

Did he find out now too? But how?

I crossed my arms and waited for him to continue speaking as Riggs still stood there in front of the door, blocking his brother from coming inside.

“It’s weird, you know? I was hoping to talk to her again, but after she texted me that she would be off for a little while because of school, I didn’t think she’d be gone for that long.”

He knew, and how he knew weirded me out a little bit.

I kept quiet though, because maybe I could act as if I had no idea what he was talking about and turn this whole thing around.

I was uncomfortable, but he wouldn’t leave until he had his answers.

Riggs was also still acting like he had no clue what his brother was talking about.
