Fated for Her Wolves - Tara West Page 0,50
bottoms of her bare feet, as if warmed by a lake of lava.
Though the demon had shielded her from most of the veil’s burning rays, her left hand and foot burned. Trying to block out the pain, she backed up against a tree, the chains on her wrists rattling while she furiously dug at a hole in her leg, trying to dislodge the amethyst. Her mates and family probably had no idea where she was, and even if they did, they couldn’t retrieve her. She’d have to find a way out herself, if the haunted forest didn’t destroy her first.
Shadows framed Sitri’s eyes as he advanced on her. “Your efforts are fruitless, little virgin.” His wings opened, expanding to full width. “You can’t compete with my demon form.”
She choked back bile, trying not to let fear rule her, even though he was as big as a protector. His skin shone like onyx and was covered with thousands of tiny rivets that appeared impenetrable, like the thick scales of a dragon. “Stay the hell away from me.”
“I am the only thing protecting you from the creatures in this forest.” He motioned to red eyes blinking at them from the trees. “Come here.” He crooked a long, pointed finger. “I have lost everything I’ve worked so hard for. I must have your virgin blood as compensation.”
He cupped his lengthening member, which resembled a barbed tail. Ouch! He wasn’t just going to rape her. He would gut her with that thing!
She screamed as loud as she could despite the stagnant, heavy air compressing her lungs.
He bent down, tucking his wings behind his back, and reached for her. Crawling backward, she kicked his grabby hands away, frantically searching the moss and dirt for a weapon. She found a heavy stone.
When he latched onto her ankle, digging his talons into her flesh, her chains bruised her arms when she smashed the hand with the rock. He howled like a dying hound. She seized on his moment of weakness to run. Where she was going, she had no idea, but she had to get the hell away from him.
She hadn’t made it ten feet when he landed on her back, slamming her against the ground with jarring force. She spit out a wad of rancid dirt before flipping over, slapping him away when he ripped open her nightgown.
She thrashed hard enough to hopefully dislodge the amethyst.
He slugged her so hard, her head spun. “Don’t fight me, virgin, or I will make our mating even more excruciating.”
No way was she going to lie back while this demon raped her. Despite the nausea that nearly overwhelmed her, she kicked and snarled like a rabid wolverine.
She stopped, frozen in terror, when she heard a deafening roar. The demon flew off her and a giant, white protector slammed him into a tree.
“Get your talons off my mate!” the protector hollered.
He sounded and smelled like Dimitri. Had he come for her? But why would he chance being turned into an unholy monster or risk death when he’d said he no longer wanted her?
“How touching,” Sitri said, brushing debris off his arms. “The mighty giant has come to rescue his breeding bitch. Too bad the forest will turn you mad, if it hasn’t already.”
The demon let out an ear-piercing screech and launched at Dimitri’s shoulders. Dimitri punched him in his giant, barbed penis, and the creature flew back, wings tucked around him as he rolled into a fetal ball. Ripping a tree out of the ground, Dimitri swung it over his head, aiming it at Sitri. The creature rolled away, squealing, as the tree crashed on the ground.
Tatiana gasped when the ground opened up, revealing red lava. This haunted forest was more like a portal to hell!
Sitri leaped at him again with amazing speed, biting down hard on Dimitri’s calf. Dimitri let out an agonized roar and tried to shake the demon off. With Sitri’s sharp fangs embedded in Dimitri’s leg, he needed help. Scrambling to her feet, she felt something pop in her thigh and blood ran down her leg. Her wolf roared to life. The amethyst had come loose! She shifted, easily slipping free of her chains, and went after Sitri, tearing a hole in his wing.
The demon knocked her back with a powerful sweep of his arm. She landed on the ground with a hard crack, pain shooting up her ribs, but she ignored it and attacked him again, this time biting down on his tail until she felt
