Fake Love - Jaxson Kidman Page 0,70
Loved. Wanted. Needed. To feel safe.
And wherever I looked it seemed like it was the wrong direction.
There was no way I could lean into Talon for any of what I needed.
I put my hands to the wheel of Tank Two and started to drive.
“Now we’re getting too close, Winter,” Talon said. “We’ll need to park and have a getaway plan.”
“You’re not blowing the shop up, are you?” I asked.
“Thought about it,” he said. “That was the place where it happened, right? Where they decided to fuck with you.”
I nodded. “Yeah.”
“Don’t worry, it’ll be okay,” Talon said. “You’re with me.”
I let out a loud ha. “I’m going to feel safe near a Troc?”
“And how do you think I feel taking cash from a Bump?”
“Please,” I said. “You love it. It’s money. You’re all money whores.”
“And you’re all attention whores.”
I rolled my eyes.
I drove for a little bit and then pulled to the side of the road.
“What’s the plan, Talon?” I asked.
“You do what I say,” he said. “Walk. Run. Jump. Get naked…”
“Oh, so funny,” I said. “It’s amazing how all these guys are just horny all the time. Maybe if you all weren’t such assholes, you’d have a chance to get laid.”
“I appreciate your concern for me,” Talon said. He leaned toward me again. “But if I told you the last time I fucked someone… well… I think you’d be really surprised.”
“I don’t give a damn what you do with your dick.”
“Whew, that’s a relief,” he said.
Talon climbed out of Tank Two.
I stayed behind for a few seconds.
I wanted to think.
But there was nothing to think about.
It was too late.
Talon grabbed my hand and we walked along the outside of the shop.
He must have sensed me wanting to say something because he looked at me and put his finger to his lips.
We were at what I figured must have been a safe distance.
Talon kept walking though, slightly crouching, his eyes intensely focused with each step he took.
The air was a little soupy.
I was uncomfortable and just unsure about everything.
I kept thinking about what my mother said. The way Gia was acting.
Even the way Noah, Easton, and Xavier were acting… almost as though they…
“Here,” Talon whispered.
We stopped moving.
He pointed to the shop.
The back door opened and all three guys stepped outside.
Easton lit a cigarette.
“I say we dig around,” Noah said. “Or just start throwing fists.”
“I did that,” Easton said. “I’ll keep going too. I don’t care. You really think we’re going to back down?”
“Just be smart,” Xavier said. “Like we are with Winter.”
Hearing my name made me shiver.
“She’s something else,” Noah said. “I can’t put my finger on it.”
“You want to put your finger in it,” Easton said.
Noah made a move toward Easton and Xavier got between them.
“Hey, hey, hey,” Xavier said. “Easy. Cut it out. We have her where we need her. She doesn’t remember a thing. We need to just keep a close eye in case she does. We move forward. Everything will work out.”
“I’m not worried about her,” Noah said. “Keep her close. Flirt with her. See what happens. I mean… you know…”
“Don’t,” Xavier said. “None of us can fall for her. Anything anyone is feeling, tuck that shit away.”
“Broken girls are the hottest,” Easton said. “You can get into that mind of hers… and then into her pants…”
Noah pushed by Xavier and went after Easton.
Easton laughed and made sure to keep his distance.
“Okay, that’s enough,” Xavier said. “Everyone out of here. Shop’s closed. We’re done.”
They all walked to the front of the shop and left.
One by one.
Three different vehicles.
When they were gone, I looked at Talon.
“I guess your plan is working,” he said. “They’re confused and it looks like they all want you.”
“They wanted me to die,” I said. “Now all of a sudden I’m, what, attractive?”
Talon leaned toward me. “Don’t get so full of yourself.”
“Yeah? Your hand was between my legs, remember?”
“I’m a Troc,” Talon said. “I’ll fuck anything.”
I took my hand from his. “I hate you. What are we doing here?”
“I wanted you to hear that,” Talon said. “But now we can bust some shit up.”
“Like what?” I asked.
“Throw a rock at a window,” Talon said. “Why not?”
“A rock…”
“Yeah,” he said. “Here.”
Talon reached down to the ground and put a rock in my hand.
“Throw it,” he said. “Break a window. Fuck it.”
“I paid you money. I drove here. And you’re telling me to throw a rock?” I asked.
“I’ll throw it,” Talon said. “But it’ll feel better if you do it.”
I sighed and squeezed my hand around
