Fairy Tales and Cappuccinos (Everyday Love #1) - Taylor Rylan Page 0,29

mints that were in the dish by the register in stock.

I wrapped my arms tightly around Sawyer’s shoulders, pulling him as close to me as I could. In return, he pushed his hips into mine, and I discovered that he was just as turned on as I was.

Our tongues danced with each other before I moved mine to play with the roof of his mouth. Sawyer’s moan told me that was something he enjoyed, and I made a note to remember that later when I finally got him in bed. Because now that I’d tasted him and felt him in my arms, I knew there was no denying it. We would end up in bed together. Hopefully tonight because I needed to explore Sawyer’s body with not only my hands but my mouth and tongue as well.

“Did we come at a bad time?” Ford asked from somewhere close by. Sawyer instantly stiffened and pulled away, ending our kiss too soon for my tastes. When I looked down at his lips, they were shiny with our combined saliva, and I couldn’t resist leaning in for another quick taste. Too bad Sawyer turned slightly and my lips kissed just beside his mouth.

I tucked Sawyer into my neck and looked for my cousin. I discovered that he wasn’t alone, and I wondered just how much they’d seen. Not that I really cared.

“You haven’t come at a bad time, no. What can we do for you two?” I asked as I looked at Ford and Wells. They were standing just to my right, about three feet away.

“It’s almost six, and we thought we’d come by and help you finish the counter you’re leaning against. But maybe you don’t want our help?” Ford asked. The smirk on his face told me that he knew exactly what I’d prefer, but neither of us were going to say it.

“No, we’d love it,” Sawyer said as he pulled out of my arms. “Do either of you know anything about grout?”

“Yeah, I do. Which is why I said I’d help. I’ve redone tiles in bathrooms before. And floors,” Wells said.

“Great. Then you can come with me while these two figure out what they’re going to feed us while we work,” Sawyer said. He stepped away and stopped briefly beside Wells before they walked off together.

“Well, I see that things are progressing with you and…ahem…your employee.”

I glared at my cousin.

“When did you become such a smart-ass? Hmm?” I pushed off from the counter, a little irritated that what was turning into an amazing kiss was so rudely interrupted. “I guess we’re on supper detail.”

“I actually ordered pizzas. They’ll be here in about forty minutes,” Ford said. That was incredibly thoughtful of him, only I wasn’t sure Sawyer could eat pizza right now.

“Well, that’s helpful. I’ll have to ask Sawyer about pizza. I’m not sure he eats it.” In actuality, I was sure he did. Well, used to. But I wasn’t sure he would be able to eat it just now, not with the way his stomach was.

“Who doesn’t eat pizza?” Ford asked as he followed me. I was following Sawyer and Wells. I assumed they were headed back to the office to grab the supplies. We’d stashed everything in there, out of the way.

“Lots of people don’t eat pizza,” I said just before I heard Sawyer and Wells. They suddenly appeared through the office door, Sawyer with a bucket of grout in one hand and a bucket of supplies in the other while Wells was carrying two buckets of grout.

“So Wells said that Ford ordered pizza and a bunch of plain wings and sauces.”

I reached for the bucket of grout that Sawyer was carrying before looking at my cousin and raising an eyebrow. “He never mentioned wings and sauce.”

“You didn’t ask either,” Ford said. He reached for a bucket that Wells was carrying, but I ignored him in favor of following Sawyer back out into the store.

“You okay?” I whispered when we were far enough ahead of the other two.

“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” Sawyer had a confused look on his face, and that wasn’t what I wanted.

“Because—”

“So what’s the plan?” Wells asked. I turned to look at him and noticed he had an irritated look on his face. What the hell was going on?

“The plan is to put the brick backsplash on the sides and front of the counter.” I pointed to the stacks of half-inch-thick bricks that were in eighteen-inch by twelve-inch sections connected with a mesh backing.
