In Enemy Territory - Shannon West Page 0,40

leaned over and whispered a few things in Ryan’s ear and then leaned back, just so he could enjoy watching that blush Ryan still got whenever Mikos told him the things he wanted to do to him.

“Mikos, this really isn’t the time or the place for all this…” he protested. Mikos kissed him then on the lips, taking great care to be gentle and awaken his feelings. He really didn’t give a damn about who saw him enjoying his mate, and he knew there was still plenty of time before they got under way.

Despite the difference in their sizes, Ryan had never been really submissive in any way to Mikos, even though he wasn’t the dominant partner. It was always a constant challenge to tame him or to at least quiet him and love him into making a decision to submit to Mikos’s tender ministrations. It was always Ryan’s call, however, and when he wasn’t necessarily in the mood, Mikos had to work harder to convince him this was actually something he might want. Mikos kissed and nuzzled and stroked him, crowding him against the outer hull of the ship and telling him over and over how much he loved him and needed him. Since he thought he’d actually lost Ryan for that brief and terrible moment when he got the word the hovercraft had exploded, those words had never been more true.

Ryan’s body relaxed and he moved against Mikos, whimpering just the tiniest bit, the little sound going directly to Mikos’s cock like it always did. “Come inside to our cabin, baby,” Mikos urged him. “We have time, and I want to show you something.”

“Oh, I bet you do,” Ryan said with a shaky little laugh. “Lucky for you I want to see it, though I believe you showed me last night too. Come on, then, and let’s go to our cabin. You can tell me on the way what your father had to say.”

“Oh, nobyo, this is so not the time to talk about my father, though I imagine he and my omak are having a similar ‘discussion’ right about now. He was getting ready to leave to go finalize plans on his own ship as well, so he has to say a proper goodbye.”

“And what was your excuse again?”

“Do I really need one?” He ran a hand possessively over Ryan’s ass.

“No,” Ryan said, as Mikos brushed his lips over his throat. “No excuse is necessary. Although we’re putting on a public display here.”

Mikos raised his head and looked around at the men on the dock who should have been working, but instead were enjoying this show with their prince and his consort. He laughed again and held up his hand in a victory sign.

“Such an exhibitionist. Come inside, then, and I might consider letting you make it up to me.”

“I can do that,” Mikos said confidently, and gave a cocky wave to the men on the dock as he followed his gorgeous mate inside.

Several days later, on Gatifrey

“You’re not gonna believe it, Rasc! You need to come see him!”

Rasc rolled over in his bunk and opened his eyes to peer up at the man who had seemed to blossom in this new setting—Setin had become a tireless procurer and distributor of contraband, rumors, and prison gossip.

Since they’d arrived, Setin had been all over the cell block during their few minutes of free time out of the cells and all over the yard at exercise times. He never seemed to meet a stranger, and with an odd mixture of fawning behavior and irresistible charm, he’d been able to ingratiate his way into several groups and spread the rumors of Rasc’s connections to various contraband suppliers. Rasc had made many other contacts and affiliations with the aid of that contraband, and he was proudest of enlisting the cooperation of Selinias Pax.

Pax was almost friendly now and had already helped his and Setin’s situation with the guards. He had some influence with a few of them and worked hard to maintain that influence. The contraband was a large help with that as well.

It was just before dinner when Setin woke him with his loud announcement—this was usually free time, or a few minutes the men had to congregate outside their cells and visit other inmates. It was only possible in a few of the barracks, the ones where the prisoners with the best behavior were housed, so they were lucky to have the freedom.

The Farlian grinned down at Rasc, showing
