and Banks. I’m all for anyone living their happy but I’m no one’s fucking plaything. That night they were all up for dragging us to a room. Raid, Falcon and Beacon got back just in time to stop that from happening.
I don’t think Beacon ever forgot it. He never took Enforcer until Phoenix and doesn’t run shifts here. He took Security and likes the job. I think he always felt responsible for me not being able to fight through the Brothers. I was young and just learning. Beacon wasn’t even there until the end. Within a year, I grew and never had a problem with the Brothers that I couldn’t handle again. Cort spent time training us twice a week. He made us deadly in that year. The city Club was tough. We needed to be deadly.
Checking the time, I smile. “Training then lunch. Let’s go, Brother.” We jog the Officers hall then Security. Life is fucking good.

The mixed Team Beacon has on me fits right in with my great day theme. The SUV stops in front of me and Champ is out waiting before I’m ready to move. “Thanks, Brother.”
He throws chin and walks away. Getting off the bike, I give me a second and walk with Champ finding the new movements easy to follow. Stanley is waiting at the door. “Brother, I thought you gave up the bike?”
“No. I just can’t have a passenger.”
He shakes his head. “That eye is different, I like it.”
Nodding, I turn to Tank. “You got the book, Tank?” He turns to his second. “I have something I think you’ll like more, Stanley.”
I take the book and turn. Champ watches without moving. “This one is for you. I’ll get the updated version for you when it comes out. Ben Knight is adding lessons I didn’t have. Cort will get the new one to Dan.”
He’s smiling at the Champion logo on the cover. “This came out nice.”
“Cort had the printer put the Club logo for the President and VP they were sent to. I’m giving that one to you. I’ll have that version when I get it back from Ben. I want the updated one when it’s printed.” I’m glad Cort got the different logos. I just had Champion put on so it wasn’t blank.
He thanks me with a hug. “I’m honored, Brother.” He holds on making me smile.
“I’m good, Brother. My new eyes help with the dizzy.”
He steps back shaking his head. “That’s good. I can’t wait to see what the little porky has to say about the new colors.”
Tank laughs. I stop before we get to the dining room. “Wait. Let me get my coat off. My eye matches the new skeleton.”
Stanley stops and Tank steps up on the side but behind me. “I’ll hold your coat out here, VP. You can give them the whole affect.”
I smile at the wrong word with the short a sound. “Thanks, Brother.”
Stanley whistles. “The eyes are more impressive seeing that. It works good. You held your coat without tipping.”
I laugh and push open both doors together walking in with Champ at my side.
The little shit stares without words. I greet the other mayors that are happy to see me and the new mayors that will be. While I give them the Security updates Stanley is reading the Bible. We eat and he doesn’t add much.
The new mayors are excited asking about water and the schools. I’m not committing Alder to anything so I repeat questions for Stanley. After the second time, I take the book. “You get to keep it, Brother. I’m giving it to you.”
He smiles, not taking offense and answers for the Mason crews that are ready to work. This has me thinking about the pool for Mase. I’ll ask when the mayors leave.
Pres would not have made it through this meeting. Stanley starts giving stats and projections and I don’t even want to be here. I’ve been over this information three times now. If I didn’t need to ask about the pool I’d leave.
Mase has me holding a laugh in when he thanks me in my head. Finally, the mayors stand. Since the only thing I provided was a Security update, I have nothing to say. I wait for them to leave. Stanley tries for the book again.
“Before you get back into that, do you have a landscape crew and a crew that works with the cement printer?”
“We have a few landscapers and the printer crew but no printer. It needs parts that
