a day.”
I text Stella. Pres nods. “Stella asks the time,” I tell them.
Raid answers. “Ten to four.”
I text it to her. “She can do ten to two and Hannah will take two to four. They’ll both keep the schedule with IT that way.”
“I’ll take it,” Cort says.
I let Stella know that works. She sends a salute back.
Cort looks at Falcon on the screen. “Do you need rooms. Nine Brothers. I’ll house IT.”
“I got it. I have a part time Protector Team if you need the one Knight is sending. Justice runs as Lead for four hour shifts three days here. Teller offered. I didn’t take him because he’s running IT for Alder. They don’t sleep either.”
Cort shakes his head no. “With Alder there, keep Teller close. Use him as a Protector when Alder has to travel. With the threat today, Alder is staying put unless he doesn’t have a choice. When the Protector Team comes in, get Justice on IT. He’s faster than all but Mucimi according to Brantley.”
“Roger, Cort. Justice will like that better than Protector shifts. He was helping us out. Thanks for the Teams. Our apps are piling up again too.”
“We’ll get them taken care of. This is still the international threat. We need the apps done to cover ourselves for the local shit.”
Falcon nods. “Major like his new VP?”
Cort smiles. I feel like we’re back in Phoenix. “He loves that he’s Badass and FBI. He retired a month ago, Major doesn’t care, he’s FBI if you ask him.”
I laugh. It sounds like Major. “Jordan bounce back?” Falcon is full of questions today.
Cort shakes his head. “He beat the fuck out of Liam. I think Liam forgot that he’s an Enforcer. Liam was never more than Security and it showed, Brother. He took today to clear his head. Call him later. He needs some perspective, he trusted Liam, it’s a tough blow to take. Brinks is running quiet. Jordan needs the ear and some advice.”
“I’ll call him. What’s up with Brinks? He need perspective?”
I shake my head. Cort answers. “He fucked up with Jinx, then Stella. The Lab was shot up and Brinks is pissed about her and the dog or some shit. She’s here at Champion until it settles there.”
I shake my head again. “If you’re in the room with them you feel it. They’re both too stupid to see they belong together.”
They look at me. Pres and Raid laugh. “That’s it?” Cort asks.
“That’s it. They’re at each other’s throats trying to avoid it. He said when he tried to talk to her, she took her glasses off and wouldn’t look at him. She’s fucking tough but a cool Brother.”
Cort laughs. “Tell Jordan, Falcon. He’ll get a kick out of that. He thought Brinks was going to walk.”
I shake my head. “Brinks doesn’t walk. He loves the Club and Jordan.”
Raid laughs. “Tell Jordan that too.”
Falcon throws chin. “I’m out before you give me more to say. You could pick up the phone and call him yourself.”
Cort smiles his politician smile. “That’s your job tonight. I’ve got Ben coming in from Colorado, Elan’s Ops, Web’s IT shifts and one fucking A to work with.”
Falcon laughs. “Good times, Brother. I’m out.” His screen goes black.
“Let’s get to holding. I want prints and pictures for BSC to run.” Cort stands.
I stand and type. “They’re already running face recognition. I’ll get Security to scan for prints.” I get an answer right back and smile. “Beacon sent the prints to BSC.”
“You get a lot of shit done for running short.” Raid makes me smile.
Pres makes me laugh. He hits my back. “Jinx and the eagle eyes, Hannah, Stella, Beacon. They make me look good.”
Cort and Raid go back and forth all the way to holding. I need Champ to keep me straight by the time we’re down there. They’re fucking crazy. Ben decides he wants to read the dicks in holding. Dakota shows with him. The dicks start falling and I walk to the hallway. That’s fucking sick.
Raid stands with me. “You’re like Falcon with the new eyes.”
“Yeah. Pres said I see like Falcon and shoot like Ranger.”
He nods. “That’s cool. I wish I could.”
I smile at him. “It does me no good with the mayors and businesses.”
He laughs. “No, I guess it doesn’t. You did get Anton back and picked up all of what’s left in there.” He points back to holding.
“Yeah. How is Daniel? I haven’t seen him in a month.”
“Still pushing for a brother or sister. He’s helping
