Dodging Calamities (Artemis University #7) - Erin R Flynn Page 0,37

regards class, or I will speak with Dean White.”

She stormed out of the back door of the classroom, steam practically coming out of McGrath’s ears as she did.

“Little fucking bitch,” he grumbled under his breath. “I’m going put her over my knee and punish her for disobeying me before I toss her back to her greedy parents. What is in the water here that these fucking women are all so insane to think they can speak to men this way?”

I took off my barrier and leaned in the doorway. “Welcome to dealing with women who have world experience when you’ve only preyed on sheltered little lambs their families kept away from the big, bad world and reality as if that would protect them.” I smiled when he flinched, going pale when he saw it was me. “I told you that you weren’t as good of an actor as you thought.”

“I’m sure I don’t—”

“Just fucking save it,” I chuckled, rolling my eyes at him. “We are not the only ones who have seen through you. Lots of women on this campus have. You’re used to those who are itching to jump ranks and take any offer for better. Here, they have the best, and you’re leagues behind. You thought you’d be the wolf in the henhouse like normal but you landed in a huge nest of vipers ready for your games.”

“I think I can handle my matters just fine.”

I threw back my head and laughed. “You’re so out of your league, and you’re too stupid to even get it.” I rolled my eyes when he started to object. “You watch me like a hawk in front of everyone. It’s obvious I’m your target. Even the hawk shifters make comments that you owe them damages for doing bad impressions of them. You’re a joke on campus. Everyone knows why you’re really here.”

He narrowed his eyes at me. “I think you need to remember your place and I’m your teacher, Tamsin.”

“Not for long, John,” I purred, smirking at using his first name too. “I warned you. I warned all of you idiots I wouldn’t keep dealing with this crap. I warned you to stop this shit and realize you weren’t the predator here. But you didn’t listen. You’re so much smarter and better and—you should have listened, John. You really should have. Enjoy your comeuppance. You fucking deserve it, you piece of shit.”

I put back on my barrier and walked out of there so no one saw me. That way, if he even bothered to try and report me, or what I’d said, the cameras wouldn’t even back up I’d been there, and he’d look like he was throwing around accusations again.

Right before dinner, I got the message everything I’d set up was about to go down, making sure Izzy and I had a prime seats right by the faculty tables. It had been a slow and tedious process to get it all in place undetected, but it was worth it.

Everyone was pretty much there and settled in, the max amount of people we would get, when the guards came in with the agents of the FBI. They had their badges out, jackets out, and the whole thing. People were immediately on alert and not simply because law enforcement was there, but humans at a supe school was never good.

Which was why I loved it so, so much.

“John McGrath, you’re under arrest,” the lead agent announced as he pulled handcuffs off of his belt.

“I beg your pardon?” McGrath exclaimed. “What for?”

“I’m so glad you asked,” the guy chuckled, raising the volume of his voice as he continued. “Child pornography, for one. Solicitation of a minor, several counts of both, and a list of other crimes.”

“There—there has to be a mistake,” he argued as the human grabbed is arm. “Take your hands off of me!”

“You’re done bragging you’re the predator and young girls are your prey, you sicko,” the guy growled as he yanked McGrath so he could put the cuffs on.

McGrath went pale, shock making him stop struggling. His gaze darted around and locked on mine, his eyes going wide at the amusement he saw when he looked at me.

Because I couldn’t even hide it. I wished I had popcorn and had been recording the whole thing from the start, but that would be too obvious I knew this was coming. Enjoying the asshole’s misfortune could be chalked up to lots of things, given many knew he was too interested in me.

But I
