Deviant Games (The Controllers #8) - L.V. Lane Page 0,1
all I could make sense of it. My cheeks heated. How could I summon any level of embarrassment after the wild experiences we’d shared together?
“Still fucking no,” Ethan muttered, shooting a glare at Ryker. “And she doesn’t need any extra stimulation.”
Damn it, I knew they were discussing a deviant plaything for me, and just the thought of it, whatever it was, and especially if it was terrible enough for Ethan to reject, was having a predictable effect.
I froze. Please, don’t let them notice. Maybe if I slipped quietly out and went to my nest, I could calm the rising flush and signs of arousal?
Like wolves sensing fresh prey, both heads lifted—one dark, one deviant, both poised to embrace the game.
“For fuck’s sake,” Ethan muttered. “Stop researching the damn things while she’s in the room. See what’s happened now?” He gestured toward me, and dumping the tablet into Ryker’s hands, stalked toward me.
Ryker chuckled, tossed the tablet aside, and followed hot on Ethan’s heels.
CHAPTER ONE
Extensive trials followed the development of the Copper virus, and these yielded what was now categorized as the Delta through Mu dynamics.
These early trials led to the first mass release on the tiny outer-reaches planet, Adora3, a mining planet with a high military presence.
The Copper virus does not work as if given a blank slate. It takes what is offered in the individuals DNA and encourages it to flourish. The first Alpha dynamics manifested within days. Untrained and unchecked, the results were devastating. They were revealed among the strongest, mentally and physically, and many occupied positions of power within the government, business, military, and the police.
Knowing the observers from the Empire’s governing council would destroy them, and the whole planet, if necessary, they took action.
All too easily, the virally altered inhabitants of Adora3 infected the next world.

“FUCK,” ETHAN MUTTERED.
“I’m sorry!” I said, wincing.
We were in one of the many practice pits of Chimera’s military headquarters. My secret wasn’t a secret anymore. Given what I’d been through and all I had learned of the Uncorrupted’s Alpha program and their affiliation with Salvation, I wanted to help the war in any way I could. Both my blood and my other gifts needed to be explored. I wasn’t the first Omega to have telekinesis as a gift, but I was the first to utilize the ability for myself. In all other cases, it had manifested through their bonded Alphas.
Ethan cut a scowl my way as he wiped the blood trickling from his nose with the back of his hand. “Don’t apologize, Princess. I should have been better prepared.”
Okay, he wasn’t hurt badly… maybe just his pride. Biting my lip, I stifled a giggle. Ethan took my combat training seriously. Although my power was erratic, it was fun to get one over on an Alpha.
I was still gloating when he fisted my upper arm, and in a fast, seamless move, took me face down on the mat in a controlled drop.
His big hand connected with my ass. I yelped. It wasn’t the first such blow in that region. He was a hard taskmaster; there was not a bit of compromise.
“You’re not focusing,” he admonished as I pushed to my hands and knees. We were nearing the end of the hour, and I was tiring. “I’m not giving you any dick tonight if you don’t block the next three blows effectively using the right amount of power.” I staggered to my feet. I knew exactly what that threat meant, a long night of teasing to the point of desperation—it was the worst form of punishment. “Stop holding back. I can take a bloody nose better than you can handle a night without dick.”
That was fighting talk, and he knew it.
The beast grinned, flashing those dimples I adored. “I’m not going to hold back, either. Block the blow or pay the price.” He held up three fingers.
Three fingers meant three strikes.
Raising my hands, I assumed a defensive stance. It was laudable given our size difference, but my power evened things out.
This time I blocked the attack easily.
Three strikes.
Three blocks.
I was so excited I let out a whoop of joy and did a happy dance.
“Uhh.” All the air left my lungs in a rush as I landed on my back, legs open, with his weight pinning me to the ground.
“You said three!”
“Yeah?” He smirked. “I lied. It’s fucking wrong teaching combat training to an Omega.” His gaze lowered to my lips. “But I have to admit, some parts are fun.”
Yes, he liked
