splayed over the hard muscles.
A shudder rippled down his spine when he found the quicker he moved, the better it felt. Declan wrapped one large hand around Sean’s aching prick and gave a light tug, matching Sean’s movements with his own. A tingly sensation built in Sean’s groin and he knew the band inside of him would snap soon. Declan started to push upward into Sean to meet Sean’s movements. “Close, my mate?” Declan rumbled.
“Clo-close to what?” Sean gasped.
Declan caught Sean by surprise when he jackknifed and suddenly wrapped his arms around Sean, trapping Sean’s cock between them. The friction between them teased the head of Sean’s prick causing Sean to moan and clutch Declan’s shoulders. "Ready to come apart in my arms,” Declan growled huskily.
With an almost vicious motion Declan began to jerk Sean down onto his cock while thrusting hard into him. Sean gripped Declan tighter, unable to stop his head from lolling backward as he cried out at the uncompromising invasion of his being. It didn’t take long for Sean to hit the crest of his orgasm, spilling between them, but a second climax rolled through him the instant Declan sank his fangs into Sean’s shoulder. White light clouded Sean’s vision and he heard a muted roar and then the pulse of Declan’s shaft inside of him. He fell into oblivion, his body unable to handle the overload of sensations and they dragged him under.
When he finally became aware, he found himself lying amongst the sheets and Declan curled around him, one hand idly stroking the outside of Sean’s thigh. The only light in the room came from the moonlight shining between the curtains. “Okay, baby?”
Sean turned his head so he could see Declan. A sated look covered Declan’s features. “Yeah,” he mumbled, gazing back at the nearby window.
Declan nuzzled at the scar on Sean’s shoulder then pressed a kiss to Sean’s cheek. At some point, Declan must have cleaned them both up because Sean didn’t feel sticky anywhere. “Declan?”
A small hum met his query.
“Do you… do you think I’ll be able to shift?”
Declan brought his arm around Sean’s waist and pulled him tighter against him. “I know you will, gorgeous. Soon.”
Sean nodded a bit, but he didn’t know if he could believe Declan’s faith in him. He covered the top of Declan’s hand resting on his belly and entwined their fingers. Declan made him feel safe, loved, and like everything would be okay. Yet he couldn’t ignore the voice in his head telling him he’d never be enough for Declan. The words of the man he’d thought to be his father calling him vile names and how he should have been aborted from his mother.
“Tell me a good memory, Sean,” Declan murmured close to his ear, interrupting the awful thoughts running through his mind. “A light in the darkness of your past.”
Sean didn’t know of many. After all, there weren’t many days which went by without a beating or having to clean up Sam or Tara when Carl had finished with them or even having to dig a grave for another of his victims. “I can’t think of anything,” he whispered.
“Nothing?” Declan sounded sad and Sean didn’t want him to feel anything but happiness.
He took a moment to think and then gave a small smile. “There is one year when we had our own Christmas. Carl passed out by eight on Christmas Eve and I managed to sneak an extra can of Spaghettios downstairs for all of us. We made each other hats out of old newspapers and Sam and Tara made up a small play to put on for the little ones. They even were able to get the younger kids to laugh. It was the best day of our lives… until you saved us.”
“God,” Declan said hoarsely, his arm tightening to an almost painful grip around Sean’s waist.
Sean felt a drop of water hit his cheek. He reached up to touch it and frowned. Another splashed down and rolled across his lips. He instinctively flicked his tongue out and tasted salt. His eyes widened when he realized Declan was crying. “Declan?”
He tried to turn to look at Declan, but Declan buried his face against Sean’s hair. “Why?” A shudder wracked Declan’s large frame. “Dec? Please don’t cry.”
When Declan finally managed to speak, his voice sounded scratchy and Sean could hear the strain behind Declan’s words. “I swear to you until the day I die, baby, I will do everything in my power to give
