out of here? Is your leg bothering you?”

“I’m not rushing. I got shit to do and my leg’s fine.”

His leg was not fine. He was rushing. Though he might’ve had shit to do.

“Hey,” Adalynn Walker called from the front door and Trey jerked and his body went solid.

My gaze sliced from Trey to watch Hadley’s twin walk through the living room.

It had long ago stopped giving me pause seeing Hadley’s double, but that didn’t mean that sometimes it still hit me that there were two of them. They were identical—in other words both gorgeous—but from the beginning, I could tell them apart. Hadley carried herself differently. She was sass and attitude to Addy’s shy and sweet.

But right then, the thunderous look on Addy’s face didn’t say sweet. It said, ballbuster.

“You missed PT yesterday,” Addy snapped.

Oh, shit.

“Yep,” Trey snapped back, his expression matching Addy’s.

There it was, the rush to leave.

“So, what, you’re a quitter?”

“Can we not do this here?” he growled

I wasn’t sure if it was Trey’s angry tone or if Addy remembered they had an audience, and as Trey’s physical therapist, she shouldn’t be discussing his care openly.

“Yeah, Trey, we’ll talk Monday at four when you meet me at the gym.” And with that, Addy strutted her ass to the back door and Liberty followed.

Well, it seemed Addy could be full of sass and attitude, too. That was, if she had the right man to pull it out of her.

The back door slammed, Trey’s eyes turned to ice, and he mumbled his goodbye.

Then I watched him hide his limp as he made his way out the front door.

“That’s gonna be interesting,” Matt muttered.

“No, it won’t,” Carter grunted.

“Dude, Addy’s hot,” Luke put in.

“Warning—I wanna hear shit about how hot my woman’s twin sister is even less than Carter wants to hear it.”

“Shit, brother, I didn’t think about that.” Matt laughed. “So, seeing as Trey was absolutely enjoying—”

“Don’t go there.”

Luke and Logan joined Matt laughing like a bunch of fools.

I wasn’t laughing. Neither was Carter. He looked pensive. And I wondered which cousin he was worried about—Hadley, Addy, or Liberty.

I took one look at my sister’s face then glanced through the back windows into my dining room just as Trey ambled across my living room.

“Oh, shit,” I said at the same time Liberty asked, “What was that about?”

“Don’t ‘oh shit’ me when you haven’t returned my calls in two days,” Addy snapped.

Oops. I hadn’t called her back, but things had been extreme with Brady and I hadn’t had time.

“It’s only been twenty-four hours,” I corrected. “And I forgot my phone at work. Brady took me this morning to go and get it. I was going to call you but then Delaney showed and said she’d invited you and Quinn.”

“Don’t throw me under the bus,” Laney complained. “And stop forgetting your freaking phone at work.”

“Swear. To. God. One more person bitches about my phone I’m gonna lose it. Now, accept my apology for not calling you back and spill. Why are you pissed and why is Trey running out of my house?”

“He didn’t run.” Addy’s hurt-filled eyes came to mine and I clamped my mouth closed.

Damn.

How in the world had I missed my sister falling for Trey? And how in the hell had that even happened?

“Adalynn?”

“Don’t. I don’t want to talk about Trey.”

“Okay.”

Shit.

I liked Trey, he was a great guy. But my sister had spent years licking her wounds after her boyfriend, Jake, dumped her before he left on deployment. She hadn’t dated anyone seriously since then and that was almost five years ago. Trey didn’t strike me as a man who understood commitment. It was a shitty thing to think, but the man was beyond hot and he knew it. Why he’d joined the Navy instead of moving to Hollywood I did not know. He wouldn’t have had to audition, all he would’ve needed to do was show up and he would’ve been cast.

No one cared if a man that good-looking could act—pretty face, hot bod, you’re in. Case in point, Josh Duhamel. Smoking hot but can’t act worth a lick, and considering Trey was much better-looking, he could’ve been a movie star.

The last thing my sweet twin needed was a dawg out to get laid. That was not my sister’s style. I hadn’t asked, though I’m almost positive she would’ve told me since we told each other everything, so I was pretty certain she hadn’t gotten herself any since Jake the Jerk dumped her.

So, yeah, Trey would chew her up and
