not who I am.”

I nodded. “Deal. Wade is usually the voice of reason, but having someone else to help out with that probably isn’t a bad idea.”

That thought made me give him a pout. “But you’re not going to be the voice of reason at the club, right? I still get to have fun and be your sub and do wicked things there, right?”

He let out a loud bark of laughter and leaned over, giving me a smacky kiss. “Yes, absolutely.”

Perfect.

“Okay, good.” I gave him a kiss in return. “I like my naughty Dom too. So don’t make him disappear into the boyfriend side completely.”

’Cause that would suck.

He laughed again. “You don’t have to worry about that. I have a feeling you’re going to need a lot of rewards and punishments. It’ll make sure that I remember you need your Dom.”

Oh, rewards and punishments.

“I was very good tonight.” I curled into him as close as I could with the console between us. “I put the notebook away after I made my notes and I was nice to the waiter and I was very laid back about us dating and didn’t worry at all.”

That last one had him grinning wider, but I could see something emotional in his expression. “Do you think there should be something to worry about?”

One hand came up to stroke my head and it was so relaxing that thinking was a struggle. “Logically, it should be. If I were writing this story, I’d probably worry there wasn’t enough conflict. I’d be second-guessing things like why they felt so right together to begin with and I’d worry something was just getting ready to explode with them…some kind of misunderstanding or a cliché like my walking in on you giving your cousin a hug and not realizing who it was.”

I felt his chest jerk as he barely held back a laugh. “My cousins are all girls and I promise you there’s nothing to worry about with them.”

He kissed the side of my head. “And I don’t like stress and drama. I like relationships that feel natural and right. Yes, this feels the most right of anyone I’ve ever dated, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to have problems. We could’ve had several with my comments on the drinking nights and worrying about things like that. You thought through my words and didn’t jump to conclusions and that helped.”

“I didn’t even think about it like that. Either part.” I went back over the conversation in my head. “I guess that’s because it was already stuff I had in the back of my mind. You just shoved it forward and made us address it.”

He was my Dom, so that really didn’t surprise me.

Tristan always seemed to know what I was thinking.

“We're going to butt heads eventually, though.” He kissed my head again. “But we’ll talk through it and compromise.”

“And some things you’ll win just because you’re my Dom.” I didn’t want him to lose sight of that in the discussion about compromising and talking things out.

“Yes.” He hugged me tightly, but the car was making it hard to completely relax into his touch. “When it comes to your safety or your mental health, I’m not going to compromise on that.”

He was the perfect Dom.

Even when he was thinking of Dom-ish things, he put me first. “But you have your safewords and I’m going to trust you to use them if I go too far.”

I nodded against him. “Yes, I will. But I kind of like the fantasy of you going all caveman on me. Just the fantasy, though. In real life that probably wouldn’t be any fun.”

But Silas kind of went caveman on a regular basis and Austin liked that…and Russ and Graham were always checking up on Jonah…so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.

“Okay, maybe I’d like caveman, but I don’t know. As long as it didn’t interfere with writing?” I was serious, but Tristan started laughing again.

“Deal.” As I sat up, he kissed me gently. “A little bit of caveman and we’ll see how it feels.”

I liked the sound of that.

“Okay. Deal.” Giving him a quick peck, I aimed for an innocent look I’d seen Austin work magic with. “Can we start now?”

Tristan gave a low chuckle that sent a shiver down my spine. “I think that sounds like a very good idea, my omega.”

A quiet moan escaped as I fought to behave. It would be easier once everything started and my submission was flowing through me, but
